Anyone ever used one of those regular digital antennas to watch games while tailgating? Since game is on air channel no need for satellite or wifi.

But to answer your question - when I was a student at Clemson many years ago reception of abc was really bad and I doubt it has gotten any better considering all those hills between Asheville and Clemson haven't moved.

ABC would be broadcasting from greenville.

since the game is at noon, i may spend the day tailgating and watching games, but no satellite. Just wondering how the over the air channels are on game days and if anyone uses those type of antenna instead of wifi or satTV

What Greenville station is ABC? I'm in Seneca and my ABC station is Asheville.

They have a translator in Pickens so your signal should be fine.

Greenville doesn't have an ABC station. WLOS in Asheville is the ABC affiliate for the upstate market.

You don't tailgate at Clemson much do you? Folks come to watch the game in the parking lots without tickets to the game all the time.

DTV Reception Maps



Enter Clemson University in the search box and it should give you a good idea of the coverage for all digital OTA TV stations. If you zoom in on the map you can move the blue locator to your exact tailgate spot and get a specific reading for your tailgate location. If you are in Lot 10 - reception sux; If you are in Lot 3 - reception is considerably better. Just remember that these FCC reception maps are based on a reception antenna 30 feet above ground level so the actual reception by a tailgate rig will probably not be as good as what they show.
