congress do something to preserve the actual sport of college football before they worry about the venues in which it’s played.

True. Just a way to get their names out there without really accomplishing much since none of these venues are in jeopardy of being lost.

Thanks for the link. Although we would get some of the 'free money', why should the US taxpayer fund a multi billion dollar industry, and multi million dollar entities, some of which are private?

Surprised Historic Bobby Dodd Stadium isn’t on the list. I know Ga Tech hasn’t been good in quite a while, but I think I remember hearing it was the oldest college football stadium.
Not surprised that dump in coot town is not on the list.

Why are San Jose State and Yale on the list, but no Florida State? Doak Campbell is the largest brick building in the United States and the second largest in the world trailing only the Great Wall of China. I would like to see more money in our conference and in the South.
I'm going to check the alma maters of this council and I won't be surprised to see SJ State or Yale on there.

Reps. Mark Pocan, D-Wis., and Garret Graves, R-La are the only ones listed as of now.
Explains why Wisconsin and LSU are firmly in the mix.

Yale bowl held over 70k people when it was built in 1914 and predated and served as the example for the Rose Bowl.

Thanks for the thought but Congress needs to stay out of college sports. Let the schools pay for the upgrades. If the programs are run efficiently, they can take care of themselves.

I'm ignoring the technology and security sides of this and those may be a big reason DV is on the list....but from a pure infrastructure perspective - unless they're going to do something dramatic like put in escalators going to the upper decks or go to stadium seating, I'm not sure what else could be done at DV.

This should be as successful as NIL and the transfer portal that were mandated by congress.
