DE-Thomas, Denhoff
DT-Ruke, Page
DT-Williams, Capehart
DE-Mascoll

I'd look for several freshmen and Caden Story to emerge this spring. Not sure Ruke returns, but we'll still have a ton of talent with this incoming class. Just a matter of who is ready as a freshman.

Xavier Thimas and Mascoll are both likely to return? That would be awesome.

Both have the option to

Dec 2, 2022, 7:31 AM

Both likely to start. Both want a chance at the next level. The Covid year gives everyone that opportunity. I'd watch Jones and Phillips in the DB as well as they have the option to do so as well. Putnam has already announced he will do so

Pretty sure Mascoll has indicated he will be back. XT is a bit cloudier.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Unless he's to the point he's walking away from football

Dec 2, 2022, 8:20 AM

he's very likely back. This was a lost year. I think he also saw how KJ upped his stock with a really good year. XT has really grown as a person at Clemson, he'll be successful in whatever he does. I think the desire is still there to be that dominant player everyone thought he would be, and to do so at Clemson

Any news / announcements about Mascoll coming back for a COVID year?

We could sure use him, and I think he would sure benefit from another season with us.

I think if Ruk returns he could be the guy, rack up some huge numbers, and watch his NFL stock shoot through the roof. I love the way this dude plays.

You could add Etinosa Reuben, & Kevin Swint to the mix. Part of me says Breese comes back maybe wishful thinking

If #11 comes back it will be the biggest surprise since CJ came back. He is all but guaranteed top 15 money.

Dec 2, 2022, 8:20 AM

If #11 doesn't show out in the bowl game, then that top 15 stuff may not happen.

(We can't expect him to be dominant against UNC tomorrow ... he apparently needs more conditioning to play to his in-shape and not-injured standard.)

Some are already saying he may fall to early 2nd round. I think he will be first round though.

Nobody should expect Ruke to return for next year.

He has almost been as good as Tyler Davis (i.e., superb) and is ready for the NFL.

I really like your thoughts here. I hope it works out.

Someone here mentioned Swint, and I'll add Greg Williams, both of whom have shown flashes at DE. I'd love to see both of them get more meaningful playing time next year as that awesome class of incoming freshman develop and mature.

Way too early to even guess until the NFL and Portal decisions are made.

1st Team

DE - Swint
DL - Bresee
DL - Page
DE - Thomas

2nd Team

DE - Denhoff
DL - Williams
DL - Capehart (or Woods)
DE - Parker

I don't think Ruke is coming back. I'd love it of Santa would leave a stud transfer DE under the tree, but I'm afraid it would take a lot of attrition (Mascoll, Thomas, Patterson and/or Denhoff) for that to happen.

Maybe a couple of those frosh get in the 2 deep? Wood maybe?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Most of the freshmen are due in January

Dec 2, 2022, 8:23 AM

it's going to be a fun spring watching the DL, this class is loaded

Missing Caden Story, he’s going to be a good one

Wouldn’t be surprised at all if a couple of freshman break into starting especially Woods or Burley.

Bresee returns and plays DE ala Christian Wilkins

Clemson doesn't care about basketball....as evidenced by Brown-L getting 14 years.
