I’m assuming he saw or heard from ppl about scheff and Godfrey… I know I don’t think any of us thought Godfrey would transform his body and turn into what he is that quick… and on top of that we got Clark who is an elite defender. Middlebrooks has no offensive game and isn’t an elite defender either , he’s a solid 3rd big man in my opinion that can help with minutes and be a guy that won’t just give up easy plays. He would def not play before pj Godfrey or scheff so why stay.
