ACC Blunders

2

Jul 27, 2023, 12:35 PM

With ACC media days underway, which game(s) do ACC teams lose to once again crush national perception of the league? Looking at the options I am cautiously optimistic the top 2/3 of the league will survive. On the other hand outside of FSU/LSU there is not a lot of opportunity to change the perception either.

Wake / Elon
NSST / UConn
Miami / Miami (OH)
BC / North Ill.
Pitt / Wofford
Cuse / Colgate
VT / ODU

Lou / Murry St.
BC / Holy Cross
UVA / James Madison
GT / SCST
CU / Charleston Southern
Cuse / West Mich
UNC / App St.
Duke / Lafayette
FSU / Southern Miss

Miami / Bethune Cook
Wake / ODU
NCST / VMI
CU / Florida Atlantic

I hope undefeated

and regardless if it is only 1 game lost out of those listed, the narrative continues...

All Clemson can do is win, preferably for us every game.

Why did you deliberately omit games that matter

Jul 27, 2023, 12:50 PM

If you are going to make a comment about little opportunity to change the narrative. All you did was list the games against FCS, G5 or lesser FBS. I know SU plays Purdue and Miami plays TAM, then there are the rivalry games. Pitt also plays Cinn and I think WVU again??. That’s just off the top of my head. Believe there are quite a few more. The bad ACC teams could lose some of those you mention - VT,UVA are bad teams. Not sure what BC/GT will have this year. Other conferences lose those type games sometimes with their bad teams also.

Because if they only lost to Power 5 teams the conference wouldn't be in this situation. We have a history of losing to bad teams and ruining SOS/SOR metrics.

2022 Miami lost to Middle Tenn.
2021 FSU lost to Jacksonville State
2021 Duke lost to UNC Charlotte
2021 GT lost to Northern Illinois
2021 Pitt lost to Western Michigan
2020 VT lost to Liberty

In the past 10 years, the ACC has lost 3 games to FCS

Jul 27, 2023, 1:52 PM

Opponents. The SEC has also lost 3 in that time. The pac and b12 have lost that many or more. The B1G has lost only 2 but have probably played far less as they typically load up with MAC and OVC teams as they have those instate alternatives in that area of the country vs playing FCS. A lot of them are on a similar level.

Won't be surprised if ODU tops Wake and VT.

Unfortunately, Chase Brice's eligibility has run out at App State. They are still a tough out for anyone though.
