He won't explain, he can only type one sentence at a time and it's only to call someone a coot.

Why? They have a right to develop their property

And the city better tread carefully; the way I read it, theirs is a conforming use, at least at the time of submission, and the city appears to be taking steps to specifically exclude this development.
I don’t have a dog in this fight; I am sympathetic to both sides. But Clemson is a desirable location for development. I hate it for the residents, but this won’t be the last such battle. If this one fails, they will just move to just outside the city limits, and Clemson will get all of the traffic and none of the tax revenue.
Students are coming, whether City of Clemson likes it or not.

And students need places to live. When I was a student, I lived on campus 3.5 of 4 years. Now very few upperclassmen live on campus.
My daughter’s apartment complex, 5 miles from campus, jacked up its rent by more than 30% this year, to $800+. Thankfully, we found a better option, and she will be able to walk to campus next year. Students value proximity.

Wrong. The property is zoned commercial Mixed use and they could build to that zoning now and get 3 stories and perhaps 500 students. They’re asking city council to rezone to a Planned Use Development to allow 1300 students with 625 parking spaces and take over the park
Clemson University and the city of Clemson have both suffered under Clement’s leadership. Let Dabo have a few more down years and they will reap what they have sown.

My daughter was accepted and will begin this fall. We live 5 minutes from campus and are considering having her live at home (not popular with her), but will save like 8k per year. I love Clemson, but the school is out growing the city's infrastructure. Someone in the room must exercise common sense and without knowing the details, it seems that maybe the city sees the big picture.

We live in Clemson and have heard a lot of talk about this. I am not saying that this is the whole issue that people have with it, but it sounds like the size is a big concern. From what I hear from people who attended the town council meeting, the development is just too big for the land. Like I said, this is only part of the issue. I think people feel like it is a conflict of interest for Dr. Clements family to be involved. Just repeating what I am hearing around town.
