I can understand your sentiments, but a lose by FSU to Duquesne would only feed the narrative that Clemson breezes through a weak ACC.
As a Clemson fan I don’t want to beat the conference drum to the extreme extent many in the SEC do; however, I do believe Clemson benefits from a strong ACC.
To be a strong conference then the ACC teams must start winning more out of conference matchups.
In the last 5 years or so the ACC vs other P5 conferences is something like 16-51 which includes Clemson’s win. Yuck.

Since Jimbo left, I don't have negative wishes against FSU.
They are just a typical, zero-value ACC football team for us to beat.

I would laugh and honestly it doesn't matter. ACC is a second tier conference. I know people will down vote me for that, but sadly it is true.
On the other hand UNC losing would be epic, but since they are missing so many players today no way that will happen

ACC is 2nd tier like Big 12. The only teams that make final 4 from ACC or BIG 12 are Clemson or OU. Baylor TCU have been left out of final 4 several time for that season. Ohio State and Alabama have benefited from that when OU doesn't win Big 12.

I wish FSU would lose EVERY game they play this year! I'm an old timer and remember when we could never beat them.

I have no love for FSU, times have changed. It has as much to do with conference wins as individual wins and the ACC has been a red-headed step child far too long.
Anyway, for Clemson's SOS and CFB access we have to pull for every teams on Clemson's schedule to win. Especially when they are non-conference P5 games.
The ACC needs at least 4 "stallions" every year that can compete with P5 Schools and FSU is one of the traditional programs that really bolsters the ACC when they are good.
So that means FSU needs to win.

I personally like for every team we play (Except Coots) to have the best possible record for when we play them. I hate when a team is ranked top 10 or 20 on our schedule, then out of the top 25 by our game with them.
