Preaching it all year, the right guy at the helm effects the whole team.

Wouldn’t it make more sense to not allow points when

your own offense isn’t putting points on the board? Goal of defense should be to not allow points in any scenario.

You only have so much energy being human and all. Staying on the field 13 minutes a quarter tends to run you down

The defense has to have some hope that their hard work won’t be wasted. It also helps to know that if you bust on one or two plays your O can get it back for you. Or if the other team, who also gives scholarships, executes a couple of drives through no fault of the defense it won’t cost you the game.

You can only expect so much from the defense when they get put on the field constantly and put in pressure situation to bailout the offense over and over again. That's how you complement each other, the defense having that sense of knowing the offense can actually help them out now takes alot of pressure off and allows them just play loose and with more confidence to get their job done. Guys play alil harder, run alil faster and play with alot more confidence when you have a leader that can get it done.

when the offense is a slug its demoralizing going out every week with the weight of the world on your shoulders..when you have an offense putting up points you can relax and take a load off and play loose

Its definitely a boost for morale when the defense isn't on the field the entire game, even though UNC still ended up with a lot more time of possession than we did.

I heard there was this one guy out in the world preaching that the QB impacts the whole team. Nobody else was saying this nor believed it. But you, you stuck to your beliefs. And in the end you were right. Well done. Well done indeed

I told my Dad in our regular Sunday post game call yesterday that it had to be frustrating to play on our defense at times this year and know if you got down by a touchdown, that you were in trouble. I venture to say, that contributed to the defense waiving the white flag at ND we they got more than 2 TD's ahead.

There is no defense or offense only Tigers. No team ever won a game 0-0. Offense matters just as much as defense. There will be games where the backend gets burnt on D and we'll have to score more to cover. There will be games where we have to force a turn over to give the O more chances or better field position. While their roles are different they are still part of the same team. If one loses they both lose and if one wins they both win.
