I know we used to consider ourselves WRU after putting out players like Watkins, Hopkins, Williams, etc… But the more I think about it we’ve had as much of not more success at the DL. Where we fell off at recruiting high caliber WR after 2018 we never fell off at DL.

One could argue there was a slight drop in elite play in 2022 but that was a one year dip. Then you look at who we are likely to land in 2025. We stack talent on the DL.

No doubt DT has been the strength but DE is definitely stout as well during Dabo’s tenure,

i don't know know how many QBs looked like Heisman candidates when they played Clemson

but it's got exhausting.

there is a reason TJParker and Peter Woods played so much this season

Last year we were a top 5 defense. That doesn’t happen with a poor DLine. Our Offense has been 70s or worse since 2021. That’s largely due to poor WR play. We haven’t sent a WR in the top of the draft since Higgins. Bresee, Murphy were drafted high and now Davis and Ruke are about to be drafted mid round to upper half of the draft.

The DLine hasn’t come close to dropping off like WR. Is it 2018? No but heck how many teams have that level of talent? I’d argue only 2021 GA has had that level of talent in one season.

Is not a good d year???
We had so many guys hurt for extended amounts of time. Played with an almost undergrad D but still managed to be top ranked in total D, scoring D, take aways, etc...
That one Trevor natty year we had 3 deep line that pretty much went to NFL but thats something I haven't seen before or after at any skewl. Comparing oranges to beans there.
We had an excellent D and was able to get so many young guys ready for the big stage.
I call that a great year on D.

I know I said on D alot but I'm taken... that goes for u FM!

Peter Woods is Generational would start for almost every team his freshman year and he still didn’t start last year for us. He was behind Davis and Ruke. Those two are studs and will play on Sundays.

One could argue DLU had a huge head start going back to Danny Ford era , even the Bowden era. Lots of storied tradition there.

WRU however is a pup by comparison

At the moment you could say it was a fleeting phenomena
