That sack is exciting to watch but also kinda sad to watch

We never really saw XT do something like that since that moment 2 years ago. When he made that sack, all of us tiger fans were thinking.."ok, this is one of the 5 star replacement's for cle, dex and Christian when their gone". But unfortunately we havent seen anything like this from him (due to injuries) since that moment. I hope XT bounces back after all the setbacks he's been dealing with because he is no doubt a 5 star/ 1st round player when he is 100% healthy

I keep hoping to see him being his old self on the field. Really believe that we'll be seeing more of the above after he's regained his strength.

If im honest, the XT era is over with already. Weve already seen that in myles starting, KJ on the other side with Davis and Breese on the interior starting lineup this past week. (Pickney (RS SR) was 3rd team while Jordan William's (RS SR) was 2nd team. Seems the coaches have already moved past in my opinion. I understand what he's gone through this offseason but it just seems we are well prepared depth wise if he doesn't come back in his 5 star material.

For XT, this year is all about getting healthy and determining if he wants to come back next year.
Myles Murphy has already passed him by.

Once XT is back in playing shape. Which should be in the next game or two, he will be starting again. He is better than Henry and Mascoll, they are good guys and serviceable, but XT is better. Now if J. Foster was playing then I think XT might be 2nd team behind Murphy and Foster, but not really sure what is going on with Foster.
Also, I think getting XT back allows the defense to have some different looks because of his athleticism. Venables can run some 3-4 with Murphy, Pinkney, Bresee/Williams. And put XT at the OLB position like a lot of NFL teams do now. He moves well enough to do that, which a none of our other D.ends can.
3rd. I keep waiting to see if we have a 4-3 package with Murphy and Bresee and DE with Pinkney and Williams as DT, against a particularly run heavy team. or 4th and inches scenario.

I think the coaches are preparing him to be 100% by game 8 or so, then it's full speed ahead! I sure hope that's the case for XT and us fans.

Injuries? What injuries?
Two years ago XT was simply a rushing specialist who came in the game on 3rd and long to get after the passer which is something he was born to do. Last year he had to be a complete end meaning not only rushing the passer but also setting the edge. This was new to him and he struggled with it. we also moved to a three man front last year due to a lack of depth on the DL and XT does not really fit this scheme. My guess is in the NFL he would be more of a LB than a DE so he will have to learn to play standing up and in space.

XT did a really good job last year

But given that we were almost always in a 3 man front last year, XT was always a) taking on double teams, or, b) seeing teams scheme away from him as he was the faster DE. This would explain why Foster had 4.5 sacks last year, Tyler Davis had 6.5, and XT only had 1.5.
While I think he's a touch undersized for DE, there is no denying his speed and strength.
Xavier will be back and thanks to more 4 man front, and more a presence on the interior, and the other side of the line, he's going to have many more opportunities to rush the QB.
Should he remain on his path to getting healthy, losing unnecessary weight & gaining strength, you're gonna see a really good XT the last 4-5 games of the season.
