of permit, if any, is required to be a vendor on gameday at Clemson. I know a young man who makes college items that he sells to fans and would like to have a display at Tigertown but isn't sure of the restrictions ...and I didn't know either. There are always a lot of ladies selling jewelry on main street and I am sure that they must have a town or university permit. Who knows?

You need a state retail license to sell items to the public.

The cost is $50 and may be acquired online or at several SC Dept of Revenue offices around the state. Most municipalities also require vendors to purchase a business license in order to sell within the city limits. There may be a temporary or daily fee permit available. Call Clemson Town Hall and they can most likely tell you.

If the young man is planning on selling anything that has a paw or anything Clemson affiliated he is wasting his time trying to set up somewhere. The collegiate licensing committee is a beast and there is a good bit of paperwork that has to be completed in order to do so. In addition to the retail license you must have a business license and someone must agree to allow you to set up. Its a lot of work...

Are they things that would need to be licensed?
