Why do so many people on here want

DJU to FAIL? What would be great is for #5 to have a great year, Cade to play a lot and learn, and then be the starter next year with Vizzina coming in to push him and have two NATTY'S back to back. But it seems as though so many Tiger Fans want DJ to fall on his face. I believe CDS and Coach Streeter should know best who should start and who should play. If any of the Arm Chairs on here really knew what to do, someone would be paying them to coach!!

The reason is some people fail to accept that we actually lose games in whatever season it is (sounds like a former President) and blame players, officials, coaches, the ACC, NIL, Putin or anyone else they can think of. There are sometimes undefeated football teams but there will never be undefeated baseball or basketball teams but some fans don't accept that. If DJ was not good enough to start, he would not start, period. Support the entire team or go support losers like the chicks and come up with more excuses.

Former or current president? Still believing 70 plus million voted for who is in the WH with a 30 plus percent approval rating in 2 years? Starting to seem more obvious as time goes on.

Just read the Posts! I don't disagree that he had actually a terrible year last year, but that was last year. My original question was, "Why do so many people on here want him to fail?"
Not point out what he did or didn't do last year, everyone who follows Clemson FB knows how he played last year, but I see so many posts saying things that have overtone of wanting DJU to be replaced by Cade, before the season starts! I just want everyone to support our entire roster, be it #5 or #2 at QB..

So your opinion is that if you vote for someone then you must be happy and approve of their performance for the entire 4 years of their term no matter what? In your mind, it's impossible to have voted for someone and then 2 years later think that person isn't doing a good job?
Also with that logic, how did Trump manage to get over 70 million votes but had a 34% approval rating towards the end of his term?

Dabo, like almost every other coach, will name the returning QB the starter. Yes, DJ has to prove himself, but he would either have to be really bad or Cade would have to be really good in order to not be the starter for game one.
As we have seen in prior seasons, it took several games for Dabo to pull the trigger and start the young guy, even when it seemed clear early on that the younger guy was playing better football.

I’m pulling for DJ S well! Nothing would satisfy me more than DJ making a major statement this year.
But at the end of the day, you really need to hit receivers that are clearly open. Especially if you’re not running for your life.

WADR I think you are confused. No one outside a few trolls wants DJ to fail. It’s just that many don’t think he can turn it around in one off season. Those folks see a different reality than you see so you confuse that for wanting him to fail.

based on how he played in the spring coupled with what we have heard all camp..its all about him losing weight and moving well..there has been zero talk about his throwing and accuracy has improved.

I don’t think anyone wants him to fail, but we got to see an entire year of DJ and he was about 100th in the country. Yea, drops, fingers, knee, parents, life…and all that, but #70 in the country probably had a few setbacks as well.
We can all hope it was a sophomore slump and we see a new DJ. The spring game was unwatchable, but I haven’t seen anything really positive about passing.
If he is serviceable and we are beating the ga techs of the world by 6 points, we will not make it to post-season. Our backs will take a beating if he is inaccurate, and still unable to scramble. And our defense may be lights out, but 3 and outs take a toll, and injuries will mount. Now we have to be worried about 30 yard punts too??
I see three scenarios:
DJ plays great, and tells everyone on tigernet to suck it (I’m cool with that).
DJ plays just good enough to remain the starter, but we never have enough cushion to get Cade in a real game.
DJ struggles and Cade has most of the season to get better.
Best is the standard.

I think an “alabama” esq standard was set and last years team failed to meet that standard. So people naturally blame the QB and coaches.
We had a hell of a run and we don’t want to see any regression

We saw the QB play. We saw him falter. His performance lost games. Say “it ain’t so”. He has the potential to put that behind him. It’s gonna be exciting watching.
Now if he had been great last year we would have looked at the schedule and saw between 7 +10 games as won before the season started. How boring would that be?
The whole 12 game season double aught to be more than a boring prelude to a 2 game play-off.

Just check his stats, they are worse than pedestrian. They almost resemble those of a QB running the triple option (9TDS/10INTS) minus the decent rushing numbers.

I don't want DJ to fail at all. I would prefer him to have an amazing season. What I'm worried about is that he won't show much improvement in the first couple of games yet people will still say "It's to early to make a change". Personally, he had all of last year to show something and he didn't. So if he comes out in these first couple of games and struggles I don't want to hear "It's to early", I want to see action and change in our starter at QB.

is in our best interest.
As good as we all believe Cade can be, starting as a true freshman is not likely to be a smooth transition for him.
The best situation for him would be to learn a lot this year while still getting some solid playing time as the backup.
If our offense is as sophisticated as we are told, no one can come in and master it after part of a season.
