We have a coaching staff that cost just as much with a much poorer record.

But, you are correct, Chizik won a national championship. Dabo has won an ACC title and was destroyed in the Orange Bowl.

Along with a number of other teams that WVa beat early in the first half of the season, before TexasTech figured out their weakness. Some of the commentators this season, made comments to that effect...OB loss wasn't so bad after all, etc...WVa had moved into the Top 5, just before TxTech.

I think the stats show, we've made MAJOR improvements since that time... we could harp on loses we had 30 years ago, but doesn't make sense...when it's a new season, another year of maturity, and a lot of new faces getting a chance, move on. Look at Auburn, a NC, and now a few years later. Would you have guessed that? It goes both ways. It all seems to cycle.

The toughness of the SEC forces you to trim coaches...

that are under-performing, if you want to compete. You can't give a seemingly mediocre coach nine and a half seasons like Clemson gave Tommy Bowden. It is "put out" or "get out" in the world of SEC coaching.

He was not that good.

Chizik was 33-19 overall and 15-17 in SEC play at Auburn. He had only one winning SEC season in four years. The other year was when Auburn won the national title and went 14-0 overall and 8-0 in the conference.

Your just turning into a troll looking for any one

Nov 25, 2012, 2:29 PM

who doesn't trash Dabo and the team as you are and scolding those that still support our team. Just pathetic. And to your icon of Dabo stating "overpaid", how soon you forget he gave part of his paycheck to his other coaches. I wonder if you would do that?

Chizik had 4 top 10 recruiting classes in a row. He was fired because of an inability to allow his assistants to do their jobs (He interfered with Malzahn and Roof.) and each successive year the ability of the Auburn players to learn fundamentals and to execute them have gone down.

Dabo's teams are well schooled. The key ingredient to championships that you are missing are on the defensive side of the ball. You don't get above average offenses off the field long enough to allow your up tempo offense to wear down the opponents defense.

Chizick was 1-2 versus Dabo...

Nov 25, 2012, 3:36 PM

Actually Chizick was 0-2, Cam Newton was 1-0!
