Ah yes. The weak ACC has 25% of the teams in the Sweet Sixteen. How bad is that? Clemson and State now play teams that are ranked #2. Should be interesting. Has Clemson ever been to the Elite Eight? Not in my memory.

I was about to post that. That was a great team. I was a tween and thought Clemson was supposed to be in the mix of championships all the time. This spurred some old memories to the forefront.

I remember my Dad taking me to dinner with Tom and Steve Fuller and I thought that was just normal stuff. My Dad was friends with Tom (Steve’s Dad) and I was in awe. I was eating food with a guy I recently watched play Qb in Death Valley. Im so thankful I was born a Tiger.

Some of you may have seen my posts about the ACC continuing the best success rate in the tournament even over the last ten years. Which is the span the talking heads claim the ACC has fallen behind. The results say different. Sure, gone are the dominant Coach K and Roy Williams teams. But, anyone in the ACC can beat the others on any given day. We know it means more. They want it to mean more.

Correct, but it was 1980.
In 1990, we lost to #1 UCONN in a buzzer beater. So, so close.

Duke and UNC’s path to the Sweet 16 was like the first few games we play in the regular season. Cake walk. By far the easiest paths. Clemson playing UNM and Baylor gave the Tigers good, competitive games to be ready for a team like Arizona. Make no mistake the Eildcats are a very sound team. Can’t wait too see see this upcoming game. Go Tigers baby!

I’ve been off the grid lately camping and ice fishing in northern Alaska with some old Inuit friends I haven’t seen in ages. I heard that 6 SEC teams made the Sweet 16. I don’t doubt it because they are so strong. Is that true? Anybody know?

Something like that. "Stankey" and ESecPN wanted a redo of the SEC tournament but UofSC, Miss State, Auburn, TA&M, FL and KY let them down.

I’m shocked. I was sure that having 8 teams qualify for the NCAAT, that at least 4 or 5 SEC teams would make the Sweet 16. Well, at least the Mountain West probably got at least 4 teams that far.
