A quote from Thomas Edison in 1903...truly a shame he wasn't correct!

Or maybe we just haven't gotten to the future he was referring to, yet...
In 1903 Thomas Edison was concerned about the healthcare of his time and stated: “The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will interest his patient in the care of the human frame, in diet and in the cause and prevention of disease.”
It is truly one of the biggest shortcomings of modern medicine, that that has not yet occurred! I recently watched a video from a medical doctor who graduated from med school in the 1990's, and he said that while in med school, he only had one half-semester course in nutrition! That is shameful, and why the vast majority of doctors are only concerned with treating diseases and ailments, and not in preventing them with proper nutrition.

They want you on perpetual medication that "control" diseases.
The money must flow. I can't believe how many pills my parents take daily. I'm sure their doctors aren't incentivized in any way to prescribe each pill.

My in-laws are the same. The number of pills they take is insane. FIL goes to the VA and man they load him up with everything you could imagine.

Willing to give up smoking, drinking, meth, pot, McDonald’s, cokes, etc? There are a large (pun intended) majority of patient’s who are frustrated with me for not fixing their problem with medicine. I have a handful of patients who listen and have given up smoking, lost weight reversing their DMs and HTn etc. before you blame docs and their education maybe examine our population. I would venture to guess 100% of us would prefer to treat disease processes naturally first.
And no I have no incentive to give a patient more pills unless you would say indirectly because more frequent visits. But insurance companies don’t pay me to prescribe.

did you actually have in med school? But how much good would they have done anyway, since so many people have no interest in improving their health through better health and exercise! And much of the nutrition info put out over the past 40-50 years were flat out lies anyway!
On top of that, you have the American Heart Association and American Diabetes Association still promoting misinformation on what is a healthy diet! Unbelievable that the ADA, on their website, is still telling diabetics it's ok to be eating high carb foods like bread!
We have been misled over the past 40 years that the worst thing we can consume is saturated fat, when it turns out that sugar and vegetable oils are way worse for you! And that diabetes is ten times more contributory to heart disease than high cholesterol!

Plenty of blame to go around for sure. Most problems are related to poor choices and lack of exercise. It's easier to go through the drive through than make a healthy meal. People get addicted to processed food high in Carbs.

In today’s world - there’s plenty of accurate information available on health and exercise….
We don’t need to rely on the government or a doctor to exercise and eat better…

I'm sure you've got some fresh ingredients ripe from the soil and waters in and around your parts. Makes a big difference. If you need a magnifying glass for the label, probably a good idea not to feed a family of 4 with it.

Healthy eating is literally in the size of your hands.
Meat/Protein - no more than the width and size of your palm
Fruit - fit in one cupped hand
Vegetables - fit in 2 cupped hands
Starchy Carbs (pasta, potatoes, rice, etc.) - size of your fist
Fat (butter, peanut butter, olive oil, etc.) - size of half your thumb

What are you trying to sell here? On the one hand you assert medical training is misdirected. On the other you seem to belive physicians, insurance companies and pharmaceutical companies are in league together for the purpose of keeping people sick so they can all share the spoils of those people going broke to pay for said care. Then you give a lecture to one who presents as a physician affirming your findings that medical education in the US is a farce and physicians exist only to rob folks.
So, many here are wondering just what it is that makes you such an authority on these topics.
