If we beat nc state, we are In great shape to finish in the top 4. We could still lose to UVA and we would still finish top 4 with a win over ND at home.
If we win out in the regular season, we will likely finish #2 in the ACC. I have a hard time believing we would get left out of the tourney if we are the #2 team in the ACC.
Of course if we shoot well, we could win out. If we shoot poorly, we can loose to anybody as we have seen.
I will continue to support this team throughout their last game. I will also support whatever direction we decide to go after the season. This season is not over! Still a lot of ball to be played.....

We are fourth in the ACC right now for a reason, and it’s because we are a good team.
It’s been sad to see so many of our “fans” so hesitant to enjoy our successes and so quick to pounce when we fail. Basketball seasons are long, and there will be good games and bad games. That’s not unique to us. Virginia lost to Boston College tonight. Pitt lost to Virginia Tech a few days ago. Good teams lose games they shouldn’t, despite some here wanting to believe that it’s uniquely a Brownell problem.
We will probably lose again. It might be the next game. But we are certainly capable of winning them all.
I believe we are very much in contention for an NCAA Tournament bid this season. Go Tigers!

But he is like Bowden who loses to too many teams that they should be beaten soundly! Too many Q4 losses. We should be #1 or 2 in ACC and ranked in the top 10 with this talent. ACC not the top bb conference anymore.Might get 3 in the march madness.

That is not in there! Yes Virginia maybe. When the team can shoot the lights out one game and then can not hit any 3s. That is coaching! And still try to make 3 and not adjust.

Now that right there is funny.
So the ability to hit 3s in one game but not in the next game comes down to “coaching”?
Are you sure it doesn’t come down to Jedi mind tricks? What magic thoughts do some coaches share with their players going through a cold streak that others don’t? And why would any coach withhold such important thoughts from their players?
Face it: at this level, the ability to hit a 3 DOES NOT come from coaching. It comes from practice. Or confidence. Or rhythm. Or comfort. Or desperation. Or luck. Or being unguarded. Or a combination of those things.
A coach’s job is to put his players in the best situations where they can collectively use their talents to be more successful than the opposition. That’s it.

Can’t you guys get it thru your thick skulls that it is Brads lack of charisma , personality, resolve, toughness, and confidence himself that is transitioned to the players that causes them to play poorly on the road. That goes along with poor shooting. So, yes their shooting is affected by the coach in these ways. Brad has a deer in the headlights look on the road. His brain goes inactive and he can’t make good adjustments as a result. Why does he allow his team to keep firing away at missed 3s on the road rather than going inside etc.

… really have a lot of options when the long shots aren’t going down.
When we’ve won this year against good teams, we’ve hit a high percentage of outside shots.
When we’ve gone cold from outside, we’ve lost almost every game against reasonably competitive competition.

It is okay for people to want a change in the program when we consistently do not make the ncaa tournament. It's also okay to at the same time hope that we do make it. It's called being a fan that wants to win. Hopefully we win the whole dang thing and everybody is happy and Brownell keeps his job.

I don’t disagree with anything you said here. But it’s funny how you were very outspoken as one of those “fans” during football season when we were significantly more successful. Then you use that opportunity to take cheap shots at the football coaches and program. How is that any different to what these folks are doing now? And no, the coach’s salary does not affect how players play so you can skip that tired rhetoric.

If you check out our road losses…it’s usually defense and rebounding that does us in.
I’m glad we have been awesome at home. Our defense and rebounding was excellent tonight. Led to some easy transition offense.
We were pretty good in some early acc road games…but lately we simply are giving up too many points and getting beat in the energy category on the road.
We’ll see what happens.

The shooting percentages in those road losses were also a big factor. I agree that rebounding and energy/hustle are also big factors but the poor shooting and extended scoring droughts cannot be ignored.

Clemson went THIRTEEN MINUTES in the second half of the game at BC without scoring a single basket, so I'd say it's some of both.

If you take out the SCAR game, we went a combined 13-66 from 3 vs. Loyola, BC, and Louisville.
We went 3-21 vs Loyola and 4-24 against Louisville. Many of these 3's we missed were wide open 3's.
To say shooting wasn't really an issue is embarrassing.

On offense The coach needs to put our players in position to take high percentage shots. I think brownell has done that well in all games this year. It's why we are in the top 4 in ACC in FG % and 3pt %.
UVA lost @BC last night. They went 4-21 from 3.

You can look up the numbers if you would like. Our shooting percentages have actually fallen off a bit as of late. At one point we were top 10 in the nation in 3pt percentage. We are also top of the ACC in ft %.

dont think Clemson will be quick enough to handle a very athletic team on the road, simiar to Louisville. Wolfies have probably the three best overall guards in the ACC. Smith could have been playing in the NBA. It will be a lot more hostile than Louisville as NC State is pretty much a shoe in to make the Dance. Keatts or Jeff Capel from Pitt will probably be ACC Coaches of the year.

I just don't see us winning in Raleigh by any stretch of the imagination...NC State has been playing pretty well. But UVA hasn't played well of late, losing to BC and nearly losing to Louisville, and almost losing to Notre Dame at home!
