"I love this place, I've got a spot already picked out where I want 'em to put me when I die - up there on that ole hill near the stadium. I want to be there so I can hear all them people cheering my Tigers on Saturdays; then I won't have to go Heaven; I'll already be there."- Frank Howard

Yep. Learned to live with it. Up at 1:00-2:00 every night. I’ll get a nap in on Sunday evenings but yes it sucks.

Nope. I sleep like a baby. Cry all night and Pee all night!

Try melatonin.

Back when I first tried melatonin many years ago it worked well

the pineal gland. The mistake people make, including prescribing MDs, is to suggest people take it daily.

The body wants homeostasis. If you are supplementing with something your body naturally makes, your body will stop making it hence the supplement no longer working.

I started taking it successfully in college but only 2-3 nights a week, try not to take back to back.

Mag Calm is a good supplement but careful the next day… magnesium relaxes smooth muscle so the next day can be… explosive. 😁

Valerian root is mild but can help some.

Try 10mg CBN gummy.. knock you right out and sleep through the night.

Me, too. Had trouble sleeping for years due to old football injuries and other meds making me nervous. I got some CBD from Danny Ford that seemed to help. Now, I am now experimenting with some Delta-8/Delta-9 20mg/20/mg in a gummie that I chew about an hour before bedtime that seems to be working. Have used it for a week and so far slept good most every night. I found it online at a site called Cannabuddy. Good luck. Hope this helps you!

I only sleep 1-2 hours a night. I came upon the combination of Melatonin 30 mg IR and Doxepin 10 mg at night. It gives me 4 hours of uninterrupted sleep--no hangover effect like diphenhydramine. Be certain to avoid any food 4 hours prior to bedtime to prevent any possible reflux symptoms and no liquids for obvious reasons.

Three of the meds I am on cause insomnia. My GP prescribed ambien 12 mg. I also took melatonin each time I got up to pee.
After years of frustration, I got tired of waiting for N.C. to legalize weed for any use at all and now I grow my sleep aids and
boy does it work wonders.

I’ve had it pretty bad at times throughout my life. I could be physically exhausted and my brain just would not shut off.

Be careful of taking things for sleep. Even taking melatonin, which isn’t habit forming, has data coming out to show it could be throwing off your body’s own production of it after regular use.

Watch your caffeine intake. Some people are just super sensitive to it. One can of soda past about 2pm is enough to keep me from sleeping for a night. Plus most caffeinated drinks are diuretics and won’t help with the nighttime bathroom trips.

The best thing I’ve ever done for my sleep is taking a walk in the early sun, everyday it’s physically possible. Your circadian rhythm is exactly that, a rhythm. Getting morning sun sets it off in the way nature intended. Use as little light at night as needed and dim your screens accordingly.

I have no problem at all falling asleep, it's staying asleep. I feel like I just take a few 2 hour naps rather than a 6-8 hours straight. Its hard to turn the brain off this day n age

I have always been blessed with the ability to sleep. I lay down, close my eyes and go to sleep. I know a lot of people who can’t do that, including my wife and daughter, so I understand what a blessing it is.

Related - when my wife and I were dating this subject came up and my father, who would remind most people of Jed Clampett before striking oil, said “people who can’t sleep at night have a guilty conscience “. I think she’s still mad about that. Maybe that makes his point?

When I was married (for 30 years) I usually slept on the couch in the den, to not disturb her. I wake up at 2am, grab the remote, and watch TV. I've seen every movie ever made. What really pizzed me off is around 6am, about the time I need to get up and start getting ready for work... I'd be so sleepy I could barely keep my eyes open. Oh yeah, great... *NOW* I feel like I could sleep for hours. End up chugging coffee all day at work, which no doubt affected my sleep that night. Endless cycle.

Retired now so not a big deal, I can roll over and go back to sleep and get up at 10. Or take a big fat nap for a couple hours in the afternoon. But my sleep pattern has been totally FUBAR'd. None of the sleep meds help.

Yep, 20mg of Ambien for over a decade for me. I’ve tried every med, technique, and CBt. Can’t shut my mind off to fall asleep at night. Ambien is the only thing that works aside from being white girl wasted.

I sleep better when I get some exercise in during the day. Doesn't have to be anything too crazy, just a nice long walk is enough for me.

Melatonin helps, but I try not to take it every day. A lot of people who take melatonin are taking way too much, because the bottles at the store usually have 5-10 mg per dose but 1 mg is plenty for most people, at least as a starting dose.

I guess weed works for some people, but I've never used it as a sleep aid.

Also don't eat late at night and try to minimize your screen time. If you have to be on the computer late at night, you can get a free app called f.lux that adjusts the color temperature and brightness of your screen so it doesn't interfere too much with your ability to fall asleep. Blue light is bad for sleep because it tricks your body into thinking it's daytime.

Sometimes. Usually taking a fully loaded gummie does the trick.***

You should get a blood test to see if you are deficient in anything. My wife has trouble sleeping, taking Vitamin C gummies before bed helps her.

Try a 5-7 day water fast. It really heals your body and brain and rids it of all the bad and old cells through autophagy and gets rid of pretty much all inflammation in your body. It also heals your gut and other digestive problems. It has been studied extensively and has even shown to be the best thing to do for cancer patients (along with chemo). You will sleep worse than usual for most of the fast and feel kind of weak, but when you break it, you will feel a thousand times better than you did before.

If you do it, make sure to only drink water, take a one-a-day multivitamin (just the pill with no calories), and get the flavorless/no additives electrolytes with no calories (this will help you not feel weak and dehydrated). Make sure when you break the fast, that you just eat a small salad and yogurt. This will help you digestive system start back up and also add great bacteria to your gut. After a few hours, add in some nuts and a hard boiled egg. Stay away from fruits and processed foods for a couple of days, because these can make your glucose spike and possibly make you gain weight rapidly. Stay away from all candy and what not because once again, your glucose will spike and you don't want to become insulin resistant over a long period of time.

I don't know if this will help with your insomnia, but it worked for me. It also made my body and mind feel a million times better and I have a TON of energy now. I plan on doing a fast like this every few months because of the benefits I am experiencing.
