Based on today's D1 Rankings, Arkansas is 1 - 1 against top 25 which includes 1 - 0 against top 10 (beat Oregon State). They lost to OK State but it was a mid-week game so I guess it just means less. Clemson is 5 - 1 against top 25/top 10 because the chickens went bye, bye.
Just for the hale of it, I posted that same info on the D1 site and asked how that works toward rankings. It will be interesting to see if there are any responses.
If I could get my wish today, the Tigers end up somewhere in the top 5, get a regional with a shot at a home super.

College sports need to go back to wins and losses being the deciding factors. Can you imagine if pro sports used all of these so-called better methods?

Clemson has fared very poorly against SEC teams in Regionals for quite a few years now. I could care less about how they are ranked and more about beating them when it matters most.

First, they are in the SEC so obviously they are automatically one of the top teams in the nation. Then, admittedly I haven’t checked their losses, but there must be a couple of quality losses on their record. That would certainly do it.

Another interesting fact...Out their 30 games, they have only played 3 on the road....Thats right! 3...They played 2 games at a neutral site in Dallas as well which is 5 hrs from campus...

I bleed orange but have zero problems with Ark being #1 right now. I have two reasons.
1. Being ranked #2 gives our guys a chip on their shoulder. It's a lot easier to motivate a #2 team than a #1 team.
2. Ark has 3 legit MLB arms in their starting rotation and 2-3 coming out of the bullpen. Their pitching staff is loaded. Early season college baseball rankings are based on recruiting classes and then determined by how you perform. Ark hasn't done anything to warrant them dropping.
Furthermore, we have yet to establish a solid Friday night starter. Smith, who is arguably our staff ace, is banged up. He should be back this weekend. We'll see. Our Sunday starter is a legit ace in the making, but he is also a true freshman and is throwing a lot of innings. The second half will show just how great he is. Barring any serious injury our pitching staff will come into form before the post season and we will be a handful. Moving Gordon to closer makes our bullpen filthy in the post season.
FWIW: I wouldn't ##### too much about Fla's ranking. The further they drop, the more likely they could end up a #2 seed in a potential Clemson regional. Alah, Tenn 2023.
