hard. Cops can destroy the wrong house looking for a perp and leave citizens with the bill. Ain't no way the Feds are paying out for some idiot traitor catching a round climbing through a blockaded door in a highly secure room in the middle of an insurrection.

I will give JW credit though. They found the one kinda hot picture of Babbitt.

"Sometimes you pay a price for being stupid". In most cases I would hope that a person's moment of stupidity doesn't result in death.

Ashli Babbitt didn't deserve to die for her stupidity but when she willingly put herself in the wrong place (particularly in our nation's Capitol building), doing the wrong thing, with the wrong crowd, then the odds went way up that she would pay some kind of price for her stupidity.

I certainly don't celebrate Mrs Babbitt's death like some deranged people. While I do believe the Capitol Police officer could have handled the situation much differently, there should be no doubt by Mrs Babbitt, or anyone else, that rioting inside the Capitol building is unacceptable behavior and that deadly force is well within law enforcement's kit bag of responses.

Judicial Watch does go after some worthwhile issues - particularly in exposing the Federal Bureaucracy's waste, corruption, and bias. They do a lot of good work through FOIA and the courts to gain access to reams of Federal documents - particularly those where the bureaucratic State has abused the Federal classification system in order to keep agency bad behavior/stupidity from seeing the light of day. However, in the Babbitt case, it really looks like JW is pissin' in the ocean to try and fill it up.

You need to watch the videos the house displayed. No way in hades Ashley should have been shot. If the roles had been reversed a white office would been rotting in jail now, if not already fried.

enforcement officer could have handled that situation much differently. But at the end of the day - when you make the decision to participate in a riot inside the Capitol building - you should have ZERO expectation that law enforcement will not use force, including deadly force, to reestablish law and order and to protect our elected officials.

I find it sad that Ashli Babbett was killed, and I do believe the LEO had other less lethal options, but at the end of the day SHE is responsible for her own reckless behavior that resulted in her death.

As far as the speculation of a white Capitol Police officer shooting a black rioter - who knows?? I'm quite sure that the typical race hustlers would be making as much stink out of it as they can but my response would be the same - play stupid games (i.e. riot in our Capitol building) win stupid prizes (getting shot by the Police)....

of people rush their way into any building, but especially the Capitol building, they have made a bad decision to which law enforcement must act/react. At that point, law enforcement has a number of options that include non-lethal and lethal force to deal with the situation. Getting shot by police was always "on the table" for protestors and rioters entering the Capitol building.

The one thing I always try to do is judge events and people by the same standard. I don't always succeed but I do strive for fairness and equal treatment as nothing frustrates me more than a double standard. It is particularly frustrating to see how a double standard is routinely applied by the MSM and even our justice system based on a favored political issue, politician, wealth, or connections to power.

If this had been a BLM crowd rushing into the Capitol to protest/riot and one of them did the exact same thing as Ashli Babbett and was shot/killed by law enforcement - I would have the exact same position. Sometimes you pay a heavy price for doing something stupid...

When she was climbing through, they had no idea if she was armed, nor what her record was. As hard as I am on police for deadly force, there is hardly a better case for using deadly force with her.

You know what they say about hindsight. In the moment, perfectly reasonable to assume she could be armed and no way for those officers to know if that entire mob breaks through. They were doing their job. As other above have said, if officers had opened fire and injured killed anyone breaking into the capitol it would have certainly been justified. You should be thankful they showed the tremendous restraint that they did.

Did you, or anyone on this thread, read the Babbitt family’s suit against the government?

If you or anyone on here summon the energy and intellectual curiosity to do so, then you’ll learn the following:

(1). Officer Michael Byrd (the officer with 28 years of service that killed Ms. Babbitt) was in plain clothes, but did not attempt to discourage any of the J6 crowd near him to settle down. That is not a criminal failing of Mr. Byrd, but a contextual point.
(2). Mr. Byrd offered no warning prior to discharging his firearm. One shot. (This fact matters.). OK, this is very bad, but perhaps excusable for an officer who had struggled to fulfill his officer competency tests (condition for remaining on the Cap City police force).
(3). After shooting Ms. Babbitt, Mr. Byrd radioed to his team that he heard shots (notice the plural … “shots” instead of “shot”) being fired. No mention that it was he (Mr. Byrd) who himself had fired the shot. THIS is really bad.
(4). After radioing to his team that ‘shots had been fired,’ Mr. Byrd then further delayed radioing to his team a second time to report that a person (Ms. Babbitt) had been shot, and to request medical attention to help the person. This is also VERY bad.

We know the rest of the story regarding Ms. Babbitt’s demise.

What inflames America’s moral people is this: The federal government covered up Mr. Byrd’s serious misdeeds. Suspension with pay, along with a stipulation that he must undertake significant remedial training in police techniques and protocols would have been the most liberal reasonable punishment.

Instead, the federal government lied about the sequence of events in the manslaughter of Ms. Babbitt, and then promoted Mr. Byrd to captain.

Yet, to America’s TDS’ers, the killing of Ashli Babbitt is justified because her actions have been speciously claimed to have been caused by Trump’s J6 speech. To the gullible TDS hoard, all brainwashed by the establishment political and bureaucratic elitists, any and all injustices against American citizens are justified against e en those who are even SUSPECTED of having animus towards the anti-established political order. To the TDS crowd, incarcerating and / or killing American citizens who might be supporters of Trump is justified.

By doing this, the leftists create an iron clad support of politicians who dare to speak openly and forcefully against America’s corrupt and lawless establishment elitists. It is the leftists who have made Trump so powerful, and who have kindled the rise of Vivek Ramaswamy as the next generation standard bearer of politics that are antithetical to those of the Uniparty.
