Big Dave

If TNET won’t let go of DJ, then I’ll keep posting myself.

We all know that DJ is just trying to save his own as*. I don’t know how much Dave influenced him to come out and speak in the ways he has, but I wouldn’t doubt if it was a lot. Reminds me of Lavar Ball.

DJ wants to play in the NFL, and feels that he still has somewhat of a chance. He came out and pointed fingers because he didn’t want to just say he sucked for 2 years.

It was just nothing but DJ trying save whatever sliver of hope he has for the NFL in my opinion.

I have no idea if this is what DJU or Dave is thinking. They are throwing shade at Streeter as being basically an incompetent OC. I suppose that is an indirect call out of Dabo for having an incompetent OC. Let's face it: many on tnet also thought Streeter was an incompetent OC.

After DJU struggles against UNC, he is pulled and Cade enters game and goes lights out to win ACCCG MVP. A first for the ACC. Cade is now the starter. DJU sees writing on the wall and enters portal. After season is over and he is in portal, Dabo fires Streeter and hires the top OC in the nation to work with Cade. DJU and Dave see this and are ticked that Dabo kept DJU harnessed to an incompetent OC for two years and as soon as Cade is the starter, Dabo fires Streeter and hires the best college OC in the nation. They are wondering, why now? Why not two years ago or a year ago? Why did they leave me with an incompetent OC? With someone like Lincoln Riley, I could have been a Heisman candidate but instead I'm having to start over at Oregon State.

Maybe that's what they think. Who knows. Other than the fact that they are slinging chit on Dabo and our program, who cares? I hope DJU succeeds at OSU and goes on to have a successful pro. FB career somewhere.

The Call Out should be to Dabo and Venables as they recruited DJU. He NEVER was a Fit for this Offense. Dabo and Coach have done/did a tremendous job of Player Evaluations/Culture Fit at CU. However, in regards to DJ, they MISSED BADLY!!!!!

I hope he has great success in the pac 12. And I too was disappointed in oc performance the last couple of years. However, isn’t he like 3rd string quarterback at Oregon State? Ummmm…….

I actually think he’ll end up starting, and the only reason being is his 5-star rating and size. They’d just be brainless to not at least start him and give it a chance, they’re in a dead conference at a dead program. Probably just auditioning for bigger conferences to try and join.

I am utterly tired of the Ukeleles myself, but like the OP, if Tigernet is gonna keep posting, I'm gonna keep replying.

I just watched the Oregon State spring "showcase" highlights (they don't call it a game) and the two series that they showed with Big Cinco went like this:

sack, indecisive and was penned in, couldn't scramble
inc pass to the flat, easy completion too but missed it
10-yd gain (pass was 2 yds and receiver did the rest of the work)
result: 3 & out
--------------------------
overthrow, 15 yard pass to middle of field (penalty on defense, no play)
15-yard completion to middle of field, TE maybe?
13-yard completion to flat (all YAC)
8-yard bubble screen completion (all YAC)
3-yard completion to middle of field, very low, almost incomplete
7-yard completion to middle
RB scored on zone read from 3 yards out

#3 Aiden Chiles scrambles faster and looked the best out of the four QBs. I think he got four possessions and actually took the team down the field for two scores. The incumbent, #17 Ben Gulbranson, seemed very comfortable in the pocket and completed several throws. He has the poise, but might be overshadowed by the flashy Chiles.

If OSU wants a dual threat Lamar Jackson, they have one in Chiles.
If they want an accurate pocket passer like Brady, there's Gulbranson.
If they want a guy not as accurate and not as quick, there's Uiagalelei.

He's not as good as either of the guys at what they're good at. He's mediocre at everything.

Whatever the coaching staff goes with, even though DJ ought to be third on the depth chart, he'll probably be second because he's the second best guy at whatever kind of offense they try to run. If the starter gets hurt, he comes in as the reliever. If the starter can't return, they give the other guy 1st team reps all week and HE (not DJ) starts the next game.

100000% nailed it.
