No they don't. You can't convince me that they will get more ratings for a 1pm game during the week while most people are working than they would in primetime slots simultaneously especially considering that die hard baseball fans will flip back and forth or stream on multiple devices.
For a sport that needs to rejuvenate the popularity of the game that surely suck at doing so.

MLB more than any other American pro sports institution seems to favor a couple teams. The Yanks, Mets, Boston corridor has long been the Tobacco Road of the baseball world. Throw in wanting the Dodgers for the LA market and it all makes sense.

they want to space out all 4 games so that you can at least see the finish of each game. The Dodgers are on the west coast so the Noon start is out. The Yankees are the biggest TV draw (like the Cowboys, Notre Dame, etc,) and they get the prime spot. Then its between the Braves and Astros. The Astros are on CST, so it makes sense to put Braves on at Noon.
Im ok with it, the Braves have tremendous fan support and should sell out no matter what is going on. If i was close I'd take off work and go to one game.
Ideally you want it at night but if you beat the Phillies then it will be.

Since this is only to happen once, definitely, why even go down that path, regardless team affiliation? There's an apparent logic in the scheduling, somewhere, but I'm not smart enough to sniff it out.

What do you expect from networks when they saw Atlanta cancel the All-Star game that cost Georgia $100 million. Thanks to the woke crowd. The networks thinking is "if they do not care for the all-star game then they won't care about start of a playoff game." You get what your politicians ask.

Probably demonstrating my major league baseball ignorance here, but why is it that three of the four teams left in the playoff are from the National League? Did someone switch leagues over the last 20 years while I wasn't paying attention?...
