Not sure he's trying to play hero ball, I just think he's genuinely that clueless. His situational awareness is shockingly poor. Like, historically bad for a program of this ilk. Hard to comprehend what he's thinking in these moments. The lights are on, but nobody's home.

That excuse doesnt work for the dumb throw into double coverage (where the refs bailed him out) or the run where we got lucky with the call on the field (and the refs bailed him out). Had that call been called short the clock wouldve expired and we would've blown a scoring opportunity. We got lucky. Smart QBs throw it away.

100%. I know he did a lot of good things today. And overall, the team is much better now. But he continues to make POOR decisions whenever there is some pressure in his face. The throws he makes are terrible at those times. Got away with a few today.

I think it’s more of a “big picture” kind of thing. Do you truly think that we could compete with Georgia, Alabama, Ohio State, or Michigan with Cades decision making at this point in his career? Because I don’t. Cade needs A LOT of work.

It's always an unfair comparison when two quarterbacks are compared, like "Cade outshone Drake" as if they played on the field at the same time.
Drake played a top-five-in-the-nation defense and was mediocre, not great, not abysmal. Definitely not as well as a sure fire #1 or #2 pick should have played. I laugh, remembering Chicago drafting Trubisky when I never recall being impressed by him.
Cade played a defense that has been Swiss cheese most of the 40 years I have been a football fan, and was mediocre against it. Trevor would have been on the bench in the third quarter with a 40-14 lead.

Today. Also, I’m got to see wide open receivers not get thrown to. He got so lucky on that roughing the passer call where he literally threw the ball to TWO UNC DBs in the end zone.
Definitely wasn’t his best day.

It's pretty obvious that you didn't notice Cade's success in the option read and success in not fumbling the ball when that was called. Even against GT he was hitting crossing routes on the fly. If you know anything about football you should know that those crossing routes gave our defense nightmares today.
I have no respect for your opinion. It's just that, one insignificant man's opinion. I actually made a case for Cade's success by stating facts from observations. Cade isn't Trevor yet and probably doesn't have the potential to ever be that good. WHo know?
Imo, it took too long for Cade to 'Get it.' That's the worst I can say about him. It will be the middle or late part of next season before we quit worrying about losing because of the 4 losses this year. But, we will.
My question to you is 'How can both Cade and DJ Ewe be 5*s?'

All season folks have picked on our O-line for not holding blocks until our primary receiver got free. Cade stared our primary down throughout the play which often took 5+ seconds. That's asking a 5 yr old to do algebra.
A QB should recognize that his primary receiver is not going to get free after three seconds and, knowing where his secondary receiver is, turn straight to the portion of the field and locate his pass. Cade did that against GT and he also his a few crossing routes on the fly. GT didn't know whether to chit or go blind.
Mack Brown coached as good of a game has he ever did and served asz to Cade. Cade kept our offense and Mack's defense on the field for enough time to win this game. Our defense never tired and UNC's offense paid for it. Mack saw that coming and ran the ball early and often to keep his D off the field. Cade, with the help of RBs, WRs and TEs destroyed Mack's game plan.
No one but me addressed Cade's early season struggle which absolutely was our biggest problem in all our losses. He is over it, he's turned the corner. I saw that before half time in the ND game. I saw his growth but frankly didn't expect it that quickly. I had a DJ Ewe hangover.

Half y’all are out of your minds. Dude is a baller. He outplayed Maye today (for the second time). You think Maye is bad too? SMDH. Every QB is going to make an errant throw and a bad decision here and there. If you were paying attention, he saw an opening and took it and made a #### of an effort to reach the goal line. He may not be TL or DW but he’s probably going to end up being right behind them by the time he’s done here and he’s a huge step up from DJ.

Goal line play was great, no argument there, but maye was the better QB on the field. I love Cade , but he was not the dude today. The defense and RBs won the game for us.
