She is an amazing Women's college basketball player and has earned all of her accolades.
However, comparing her to Pete Maravich and his NCAA men's basketball scoring record is unfair (apples to oranges)
Maravich averaged 44.2 ppg without a shot clock or a 3 point line. In 3 years he scored 3667 points.
Former LSU HC Dale Brown went back and charted every shot Maravich took in college and found that if there had been a 3 pt line, he would've averaged 57 points per game
Clark has 3685 over 4 years, averaging 28.3 ppg.
We should celebrate Clark and all of her accomplishments, but let's not fall for the idea that she is a better player/scorer than Maravich.

It's basketball.... it just happens. traveling, palming, walking, even physical 'touching' is different. Really doesn't matter in this pitiful excuse of a sport.

That doesn't surprise me. Lsu coot coach couldn't wait 24 hours before throwing some dirt on Caitin.

Compared to her peers Clark is absolutely a better player/scorer than Maravich. She's wildly more efficient and has led her team to substantially more team success.

Records are usually about the bottom line--not necessarily how a person got there. When Hank Aaron broke Babe Ruth's home run record, it took him over 2000 more at-bats than it took Ruth. No way would I ever deny Aaron's right to claim that record. He earned it, just like Clark earned hers.

Pete was the best. Should be an asterisk beside Clark's name......had the advantage of a three point shot.

So, applying that logic if Bacot set the ACC record for rebounds even though he played 6 years of college basketball, that's ok?
Maybe for you but not for me.
Pro's are different because it's home runs over career.
What if between Ruth and Aaron, they changed the rule to HR's over 400 feet counted as 2 runs?

Pete would not have average 57 a game. I read he would have added about 7 points a game. Don't buy everything people are selling.

It would still be 51 ppg v. 28 ppg. That's a pretty big difference
and still no shot clock
