Wonder how that compares to other top schools? It's unfortunate that Clemson puts no effort at all toward the portal.

I have a question when people on here say these types of comments about Portal, do you realize you are just repeating yourselves over and over and over or you do it for laughs? I’m just trying to gauge how seriously stupid people are or if I’m just not laughing at a joke.
Clemson is not going to be a serious contender for top Portal Transfers with these type is dollar figures. End of story. So stop trying to shove a round peg into a square hole. You are only driving yourself crazy.

I'm not asking Clemson to get in bidding wars or to completely overhaul the roster with Portal players. I just wish they would sign a few here and there for depth related purposes.

Perhaps you missed that we have offered portal players. But, none have chosen to come here. The reason why has been because we don't promise a starting position. They have to want to come here first and foremost. Well portal players aren't transferring to a school with no guarantee of a starting job.

I agree. I think we all see where Clemson could be better off taking a transfer but Clemson is going to approach portal similarly to the way the approach recruiting out of HS…they arent going to cast a wide net and hope they get somebody. They’ll be specific about who they go after then see how it plays out. I’m sure if there’s ever a scenario where it’s a code red situation, Dabo and whoever recruiting will put on a full court press.
And this has nothing to do with the player and more to do with the schools…when Mukuba announced he was transferring, within minutes he posted on social media with like 5 transfer offers. These schools are blindly offering without even talking to the player (casting a wide net in hopes of getting somebody). From what I heard he was a good teammate, he obviously has talent but how do you just make an offer without a one on one discussion/do a little more homework. It would be like buying a house just based off the pictures online without even seeing it in person.

Can we just trust the staff to do what is best inside this program? Dabo laid out the strategy of Clemson in the portal after early signing day... and it makes perfect sense.

this is only 1 collective for Clemson though so hard to get a full picture. $ should be used to retain IMO not for TP unless there is an urgent need(you also have to have space). I know there was also the Dear Old Clemson collective and then they started 110 this year. Not sure of others but wouldn't be surprised if there are/have been others since 2021 that has passed $ through.

that was actual $ could have been or could him just trying to get boosters off their wallets. I haven’t seen where that $ was part of anny FOI/filings. Also may have been based on rumors of what Ewers was getting. Personally think there is a lot of bs in some of the #s being mentioned - people(agents/players) using a false narrative to try to drive up the market. Some schools/boosters seem to be buying into the panic/hysteria.

We can still draw great athletes with loyalty who want an education...I will die with a smile if can continue winning and still produce better young men with an education! As of yet we have not totally taken the student out of student athletes...look at poor FSU, all they can do is purchase a new team with no loyalty...we know what constitutes a HO...we just have to establish a price!

I will never pay an 18 year old to play football, get a free education, live the life of a freaking rock star, and then go pro. In what world would some sane individual do that? Often times when you see billionaire donors doing this they end up in some type of scandal 3 years later. See the U of M booster Ruiz.
I love Clemson and college sports, but that is not happening. Paying to IPTAY to build facilities that are CLEMSON OWNED and paying for athletes education is one thing. Paying for athletes to buy 100,000 dollar cars is another.
I will watch it all burn down before I give one penny to that effort.
