Defensive adjustments

I know everyone likes to trash Goodwin but I saw a good adjustment that I thought deserved props. On the first TD and another play after on a speed option. Someone had the QB but no one was there for the RB pitch. Into the second half every time they ran the option the QB and RB was covered. Just thought that in game adjustment was cool

Wes does good IMO.

Folks thinking we should be pitching shut outs every week are just unrealistic.

I get it, the past two years our expectations of what the defense should be have been super high and Wes had huge shoes to fill with BV leaving.

That said, even though he's not BV, the defense is doing enough to give this team a win. Yeah, you can cherry pick sloppy play each game but there was plenty of that talk too when BV was here. My only rub at the moment is that the team looks undisciplined at times but that's on both sides of the ball.

Personally, I don't think he's in danger of being replaced this year unless our defense starts looking like it belongs in the Big 12. I have way more confidence in what Wes has done on defense compared to what Streeter was doing with the offense last year.

Like most things, just a wait and see how the season progresses and hopefully it won't be much of a conversation one way or another by season's end.

He needs to teach tackling. That was the problem in the Duke game. I was really surprised how slow they looked especially in the open field.
