Do you know him personally or going on what you hear. ??? How do you know he even knew sign stealing was going on. A HC named Danny Ford was pushed out by administration based on booster illegal activities. In my honest opinion I don’t believe Danny knew what was going on. Fans, Boosters and assistant coaches can do things the HC would not approve of and most like did not know about it until after it happened. Or was notified about it.
So what Makes Harbaugh a slime ball ???

The difference is everybody really was doing the same things that were going on at Clemson. What forced Danny out was fear of the death penalty like SMU had gotten shortly before. I knew some of the things that were going on as a student who was a friend of a few football players. You can bet you your butt that Danny knew about most of what was going on. However, I knew a couple of players from Nebraska and later on South Carolina and Ohio State and heard similar if not worse stories from them.
If you will remember Harbaugh sat the beginning of the year out for illegal recruiting before the sign stealing scandal. The recruiting might not be unusual, but what had gone into the sign stealing certainly was, and if Harbaugh did not know it was because he had given free reign to his coaches to cheat as long as they gave him plausible deniability. Like Danny he might not have known exactly what was going on, but I'll assure you that he was not surprised. I won't call him a slimeball, but I will call him a cheater.

I've kind of taken a step back on him and tried to take my goggles off. I am very impressed by the humility of his entire team and their fight for each other attitude. Also the sheer emotion people close to him, past and preset have shared during all this says a lot. People don't have to do that.
It's been said by many that venables pretty much did the same thing and we won two titles from it , so......

You know that Clemson was accused of pretty much the same thing en route to our 2 national titles, right? And Danny was accused of recruiting violations after the one in 81. They always come after the winners that aren’t part of the SEC blue bloodline when they know they can’t beat them on the field

Lazy on your part not to be better informed about the extravagance, uniqueness, man hours involved in scouting opps signs/taping as they flash 3 weeks in advance of having to meet that opponent! Come on, you thought they were making this big of a deal because Harbaugh was stealing the signs in real-time like everyone else attempts. I'm baffled at how uninformed many of you truly are about the UM sign stealing scandal yet continue to argue from this perspective. 5 minutes + Google would be a start but ignorance is bliss I guess-

No matter what Harbaugh is found guilty of, most of the rest of cfb is guilty of same or worse actions. Tampering, using nil to buy players from other teams etc. If Michigan wins and is found guilty later it just demonstrates even more the total lack of value of the NCAA.

Well, I hear what you are saying, but IMO, the NCAA is the slime ball in this. They allowed Michigan to fundamentally tilt the playing field in their favor and did next to nothing to punish them. They should have forced Michigan to vacate all wins where they were confirmed to have scouted and stolen signs. Instead, we have the inmates running the asylum.

I heard something on ESPN where the guy said the sign stealing was discovered in time for the challenging teams to change their signs, and that Michigan would have beaten the other teams anyhow, so it didn't matter. That is the backward thinking that the NCAA has instilled in college football, by only enforcing rules with programs that are small enough that the masses don't care.

Everyone has been stealing signs for years...if you stick up big stupid placards someone will read them...very people that talked smack against Houston in baseball were doing it as well...NY, Boston, Arizona, even Frisco...really stealing signs...call the police...the game is being destroyed by gambling and payola and you idiots are worrying about stolen signs...put some salve on and grow a pair!
