He talks about his “brothers” at Clemson, but . . . actions speak louder than words. He’s choosing to be against them.
I see tnetters saying they’ll pull for dj when he isn’t playing against Clemson. I’m not one of those people. I remember when Clemson went to Tallahassee and Mike Norvell refused to play. Norvell is a d*** and fsu is the enemy. I’d be happy if dj went 0-12. He might as well be playing for the coots.

Didn’t he get a degree? If so, pretty sure that makes him a legit Tiger (not a “once a Tiger always a Tiger” nonsense).
You can disagree with him transferring but I’ve always felt that his lack of success here is not all on his head. Clemson coaches incompetence on offense played a big role.

I would agree with that; however, he won't play because he won't be their starter. DJ is not elite, never was...not to say FSU has any elite QBs there right now, but I'd bet at least one of them is better than DJ.

Disagree a little...
1. Am I going to pull for him? No
2. Did he leave to open the door for potentially a better (arguable) option? Yes...felt like he was invited to leave
3. Did he graduate? Did he leave on good terms and did he honor the university while he was here? Yes...then IMO he's a tiger and I will be happy for him starting in 2025.
4. If I was okay with the other QBs leaving...im okay with him he's just on another team this year.

He had some questionable comments about the coaching staff soon after he left. I wouldn’t say he’s exactly on good terms.

I haven't watched or supported him in any other games like I did with Chase Brice, but my problem is less with DJ and more with Big Dave using his son as a pawn.

He is an alumni of this university which is something I am sure a healthy % of this board can't claim.
The kid might as well have been kicked out of school. Do you not remember everything that was posted about him on this very board? Do you really blame him for wanting to leave?
The fact that he speaks so highly of Dabo and Clemson is a testament to his character.

I don't see DJ carving up the Tigers when they play. He'll never be a great QB, although he thinks he will be. If he were as good as he was advertised coming out of California, it would have showed. The Deshaun Watsons and Trevor Lawrences of the world revealed their stellar talent immediately, there was no mistake they had the "it" factor, and 2 Nattys were the result. The great ones always show up right away. DJU wilts after being sacked a few times, losing his cool, and he doesn't see the entire field well when in the pocket. Not an NFL QB. The Clemson defense should have a very good day against him.

Yeah, but Watson and Lawrence were rare. We just were fortunate to essentially have them back-to-back, which is kinda crazy. 5-star kids don't always pan out. Has Klubnik displayed that potential immediately? Of course not. Cade can still become a very good college QB, but he's no Watson or Lawrence.

If Klubnik is a very good QB, it'll show THIS year. I do believe he is better than DJ, but Coach Riley has to do a better job of calling plays as well. Sometimes during last year's games I had to ask myself, "Did Dabo make the right decision on hiring this guy?" Some of his play calls seemed like they came out of the "dumb and dumber" handbook. He needs to trust Klubnik more and pass the ball vertically, and not
throw so many bubble screens, because as sad as it sounds Clemson's WRs couldn't block high school DBs. I do think that Clemson's ground game will be huge this year. Mafah can be a 1,000 yard rusher this coming season. (They need a replacement for Shipley). All-in-all, The experience gained by Cade last year, will help a lot this year. A win over Georgia, and a win over the FSU "transfer portal crazed" Norvell, should get the Tigers into the 12-team Playoff.

DJ quit on his team and couldn’t even play in the bowl game. Kinda crappy if you ask me considering he should have been benched long before he was, but Dabo was loyal to him.
I don’t hate anyone, but I will never pull for FSU or DJU!

And I root for Clemson. Is DJ rooting for Clemson? I'm not so sure. Since he's at a conference rival, I'd have to say, no, probably not. Is DJ rooting for anyone on this board? No. My point is that DJ's in it for DJ. He got his at Clemson, and nobody from the university or here on tnet owes him anything.
There are nearly 200,000 living alums. Maybe the guy sitting next to you went to Clemson. Maybe he's a good dude. Or maybe you don't like him. You probably don't want him to get promoted over you either way. Or maybe the guy running a rival business across the street went to Clemson. Maybe that guy is taking customers and eating into your profits. Are you pulling for that guy just because he says nice things about Clemson? Doubtful.
I'm pulling for Clemson, and to me, that means pulling against DJ and FSU. Is TINO a thing yet?

FSU need be mindful that we are aware of DJ's weaknesses and Goidwin will scheme in a way that puts him in a box that forces him to overcome these weaknesses to prevail.
I'm not a betting man but if I were to choose between who has the better day , DJ or our defense, I'm rolling with the D.

FSU will need to be able to run the ball effectively this season to beat us. They won't be able to put the game on DJ's shoulders against our defense. I think it'll be a lower scoring game and if we can shut down their running game, we'll win.

He is a Tiger in the most literal meaning. As in he played for Clemson and graduated from Clemson
But when it comes to his place among Clemson football history, his status as a Tiger is quite average or maybe even below average
