And we won our bowl game to be on one of the best winning streaks in the country.
That is, I do think there are many teams ranked ahead of us who we could beat.

I guess it was the lack of offense, but I think that takes away from the phenomenal effort of the defense. The defense alone was enough to elevate us, plus the streak. Without that D, we don’t win 9 games after a 4-4 start, where we just as easily could have packed it in for missing the ACC Championship, etc.
Oh well. I’ll take #20 after seeing what it could have been.
Have to give it to Dabo and Co. They kept these guys together and fighting through the early adversity. Hopefully that whacky turnover stuff is behind us.

My age-old problem with the AP polls is evident

right here, for they are supposed to be objective and fair. Yet, you can see regional and affiliated biases rife throughout.
Secondly, weekly polling is highly subjective, for I've long maintained that few voters have enough game info, are typically out on Saturday night bar tears, then rise in stupors Sunday mornings to cast votes based on scores...and the higher, the better.
Hence, why I believe the CFP polls need to start earlier, rendering the rest useless.

The FSU guy had us 23rd even though we absolutely should have beaten them.
The South Carolina chick had us unranked even though we beat them.
The Georgia guy had us 25th just because we went undefeated against the SUC this year.
And how does one guy have Kentucky ahead of us?

They assign affiliation based on what school they write about or attended; that’s super flawed. So a person from the greenville news that covers all of the in state schools is what? Paul Feinbaum, who’s the biggest Bama lover on the planet, went to TN so would he be considered affiliated with the vols?
