FedEx: Of all company slogans of all companies in the world, none is much

further from the truth than theirs. Never, EVER have something shipped with FedEx if it "Absolutely, Positively, has to be there overnight."

I recently purchased a pair of 10AHr 20V Dewalt batteries off ebay. They started out in Chino, California on March 8th. I am in South Carolina. The batteries have meandered all over the country with FedEx, California to Arizona, Arizona to Kansas, Kansas UP to Indiana, where they spent what must have been a lovely three days. Finally started moving again, and are now shown in Maggie Valley, North Carolina, ELEVEN DAYS AFTER THEY WERE SHIPPED!

Even by their OWN drag=a$$ed schedule, the original delivery date was March 15th. Missed it by THAT much!

I buy a lot of things off Amazon and ebay. Most things come either via Amazon shipping itself, USPS, or UPS. I CRINGE if I see that the merchant shipped via FedEx. Not only is their actual shipping pitiful, their tracking information is the worst, by far. I don't know how they stay in business.

I have similar experience. What ever the tracking says it is always wrong by a lot. They are very bd. I work w a company that uses them. I too cringe at what they do.

Why on earth would any company use them? Are their rates cheaper than

everybody elses? If I had a company that had to ship a bunch of products to customers, I would not want my customers being constantly upset by having to deal with FedEx p!$$ poor services. It would reflect badly back on ME.

Huh, my company rarely has problems with them.***

I feel your pain, I'm still waiting for one of those zero gap trimmers that I ordered a month ago, and Fed X can not tell me where it is. I know where it's not, and it was supposed to be here two weeks ago...

Here's my FedEx horror story. A year back, I ordered a very nice Beretta O/U 28ga. shotgun for bird quail hunting. The vendor decided to ship it via FedEx to my FFL. That turned out to be a huge mistake.

Fed Ex delivered a $2,800 shotgun to a randon individual's front porch (no signature) not even remotely close to my FFL......

When I pulled up the tracking, it said "delivered" but my FFL insisted he'd received nothing from FedEx. When I pushed FedEx for proof of delivery, they lied. It was clear the guy was covering for his driver.

Ultimately, the person who found the shotgun sitting on the front porch, was kind enough to call the FFL, who came out to retrieve the shotgun. But it's pretty fair to say, that probably wouldn't happen in most cases---I would have lost out.

If I order a shotgun, I ALWAYS insist it be shipped UPS---if they want to use FedEx, I cancel the deal. That's a no-go for me. FedEX sucks.

I’ve experienced the same thing. Package starts in Alabama, moves to California, up to Minnesota, down to Ohio, further down to Georgia, across to SC, and finally up to NC. Only 12 days late. Customer service would hang up every time I tried to ask them why this happened. Every once in a while they’re on time. Amazon shipping is he best. Amazon also made the usps much better. They held them accountable to delivery windows and it’s great! UPS has never really disappointed me either. DHL is mixed results. I’m glad you finally got your batteries. We’re blessed to have first world problems!

Haven't got them yet! They are at least in an adjoining state now, though.

Unless they turn around and go back up nawth somewhere again, they SHOULD be here in the next couple of days, finally?

Your problem is with Fed Ex ground, they are contractors, not company employees, Express and ground are two different operating companies. If your shipment is overnighted, it goes Express on a plane, ground goes on a truck(Contractor), that’s where the problem lies.

A FedEx story:

Years ago I was president of a start-up and we found ourselves shipping a great number of samples out of the country. We had no specified shipper and usually deferred to our customers as to how they wanted something shipped.

FedEx decided they wanted to be our "exclusive" shipper and offered a great discount for that agreement. This young lady came knocking on our office door...unannounced...and introduced herself as our "Preferred Shipping Account Agent". She was in her 20's, blonde hair, and wearing a FedEx uniform that reminded me somewhat of the Navy. She started talking to myself and my (female) secretary about the benefits FedEx would be providing. I don't know how the subject was changed, but before I knew it this girl was in tears (actually bawling) because she and her husband has just split up and she was trying to "move on" without him. She left, aplogizing all the way out the door.

About an hour later, a florist came in with our weekly floral arrangement. She was a friend and was bemoaning the fact that business was slow. So, I picked up the FedEx Rep's card and asked her to send her a "Cheer Her Up" arrangement and sign the comapany's name on the card. She did.

About a week later, an all-business dude from FedEx shows up at our office and announced that he would be handling our account. I asked about the young lady that had visited the week before. He told me that she was taken off the account because I had made her feel "very uncomfortable". "Why", I asked? He explained that the flowers made her feel there was some sort of "personal obligation" involved. I told him that now I felt very uncomfortable and asked him to leave our premises and not come back. This guy then threatens to sue us for "violating" the contract we had signed the week before. I opened the door, yelled "SUE ME!!!" very loudly and pointed for him to leave.

We never heard from them again.

Maybe some will remember years ago Fed EX poked fun at UPS with a commercial. "You got it.....you'll get it." Now the shoe is on the other foot.
I have noticed a decline in Fed Ex service in the last year.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Wow, declining when you are already LAST doesn't really say much for them.

That's right. In my area I was not affected much, but the decline has been dramatic in the last year.
2-day service turned into 5 or 6.

FedEx is the Clemson Basketball of delivery services. They deliver some of the packages some of the time.

Never ship anything with FedEx that isn't Express. You may die before it shows up. Express is just as good or better than UPS.
