That last TD pass DJ threw was ALL because of the Offensive Line. Thank you OL 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

I saw DJ’s girlfriend was there and not sitting with his dad. Wonder is she hates him too. That guy and his son are rat poison.

the announcers had a quick segment on talking to DJ

about the Dodgers, and being supposedly able to throw baseball "95" mph in HS. I assume it's true - I've seen him unleash at times.
But DJ's response was that "he was a pitcher, and could really hit his spots". Apparently wanted to stress that more than how hard he could throw.
In the end, I think DJ's right: he's a Pitcher; a Pitcher trying to play QB. As long as he can stand and survey the field, he's OK. He can throw a perfect spiral and right on the money. It doesn't have to be the fastball, he can even drop it in over a shoulder on the sidelines. So long as he has time to process what is happening in front of him. Tellingly, Pitchers have all the time in the world.
But let the play go askew a bit, or someone surprise him with something unexpected, and it all breaks down for him. Ex. the fumble at the Syracuse 3-yard line last year. He read the play wrong and 3 guys ended up in his face. Read that again: he missed a read for 3 guys! It was over from that point, and for the entire year too. Why? At that point in the year, DJU had 17 TD's and only 3 INT's. And yet he basically capitulated to CK2 from then on - and we lost of 2 of 4 coming down the stretch. In my view, it was all because he was unnerved by failing to make a good option decision, and then watching a guy's back as he took it to the house for 90+ yards. Just another UGA rerun, just not a pass.
As it happens, Pitchers don't have to deal with that type of instantaneous decision at all.
It's complete BS that he's inaccurate. He ripped Notre Dame a new one only one week after doing same to Boston College. But he had time to throw, and importantly, good receivers who were getting open in those games.
It's also complete BS that he can't throw the touch pass. Morgan Freeman charted his passes all year, and he was consistently at almost 100% completion rate behind the LOS or within 10 yards of the LOS. He has touch just fine - he just needs time to calibrate the right mechanics.
Again, Pitchers don't have to do that - they hardly ever "take anything off" the pitch, and certainly don't have someone running at them at the same time. When they throw a sinker or a change-up, it's still the same motion and arm speed - just a different grip.
And finally, that's why he's so bad as an option QB - which is why I think he really failed here. Option QB's make instant decisions at all times. They "read" multiple players, just the same as "reading" a safety's alignment, or a safety's move into the box, or a safety's pass off of a receiver crossing another receiver's route. It's just that the Option run decisions almost always happen with a defender in your face, and with a split second decision. Throws against a blitz can be like that too - but if you've had the time to survey the field, the throw isn't an instantaneous decision to make - it's an after thought almost.
Go back an watch the TD to Briningstool to make it 7-0 at 8:09 of the 1Q of the Wake 2022 game. He stands there all day, and finally hits Briningstool coming left to right in the back of the End Zone. He has all day, but he also gets rid of the ball at the last instant and pays the price for holding it so long. So he was getting blitzed, had all kinds of secondary routes being run by players in the EZ, had someone immediately in his face, but still threw the perfect touch pass. Why? He had already "processed" the field. The throw was made to a spot in a mental picture that had already coalesced for him. Note too, that this is a hard throw to complete consistently because the player is running completely sideways. Thus there's no room for error.
Ask him to make the same throw as a first cut, and I bet he's not 50%. He'll miss it more because the decision to throw is compressed on the first route only.
At any rate, that's my top cents. I think you hit it on the head. He's got the processing speed of a pitcher, not a QB. And always will unfortunately.

DJU's stats were highly comparable to the Heisman winner's stats in virtually the amount of playing time.
Next question?

Probably, but I've still got confidence in DJ royally ephing up and I hope he does. He has never once taken the "high road" during an interview regarding his transfer.

I didn't get to watch the game but 20 for 25 and 235 yards is not too shabby. 146 QB rating

Easy to thank an OL line against a 3rd rate opponent in a conference where they do not play defense. Tired of DJ threads, I want to look ahead, not behind us.

So I don’t read much into that.
It’s San Jose State though, and he wants to play pro ball.
So he’s going to need to step up into pressure and make throws against quality opponents
I hope he can do it
