Coldest temps we’ve had in June in a while.

It’s been very pleasant by SC standards. No doubt.

That doesn't mean much. We also had a winter that was warm enough that we had zero snow.

My favorite part was the 6 degrees with minus 15 chill factor at Christmas.

But there was no snow!!!!

Because SC is known for their bountiful snowfall.

It's not "global warming" it's "climate change" as things get messed up in a variety of ways.

Oh that’s convenient 🤣

So what happened to global warming? Was that “debunked” or something?

Do your basic monthly libtard dues come with the word of the month?

Or is there some sort of premium plan you subscribe to?

C’mon. The enviro-hoaxer global warming crooks ‘global warming’ term was dropped after things got too cool too often.

$5 for the person who can come up with the sequel to ‘climate change’ term.

I’m going with ‘Anti-misinformation climaticism fact science’

Overuse of fossil fuels sent each of those civilizations into massive global warming and extinction.

Ice ages took thousands if not millions of years

Based on carbon dating (of which I - fchrisgrimm - have no idea how they really do that or how it really works or how it’s really applied), the earth’s temperature has been changing at a much faster rate than has ever been recorded (you know for statistically insignificant 300 years humans have been recording temperatures). Which must be real bad because Al Gore said so (and he invented the internet, so you know he’s smart)

How’d I do?

Badly.

It's actually ice core samples that tell scientists all that.

On the other hand, the folks telling you climate change isn't real all work for fake-science conservative think tanks...a lot of whom are in fact the very same ones (and the very same people!) who once told America that cigarettes didn't actually cause lung cancer.

Wanna play a game? Find an article - any article - that denies climate change...and with a few google clicks I'll be happy to show you how that article was paid for by either the Koch Brothers or Exxon.

Wanna put that to the test? I dare ya.

Why wouldn’t all scientists agree; it’s the only way to get funding

Thanks ESG.

Have you ever really thought about what you're saying?

1

Jun 5, 2023, 11:57 AM

No, that's not rhetorical, really think about what you're implying. How many people would have to be in on the conspiracy for climate scientists to come to a concensus that climate change is mostly man made? Then if you believe in this grand conspiracy, how can you possibly think that anyone has any hope of fighting a person/organization/whatever so powerful?

Re: Ok, I’ll be pretend to be fchrisgrimm

Jun 5, 2023, 8:18 PM [ in reply to Re: Ok, I’ll be pretend to be fchrisgrimm ]

Ok, joking aside. There is pretty cool science they are using to try and date the the core samples.

There is this stuff in Antarctica called “blue ice” which is basically ancient ice thats been pushed up and modern layers worn off the top. Contains all types of interesting data going back approximately 2.7 million years ago. The problem is they couldn’t figure out how old it was because previous methods they just counted the layers (laughing at the guy that had to count all 800k layers in the Greenland core sample🤣)

Anyway they developed an Argon Gas dating method which is supposedly accurate to @ 100,000 years

https://www.pnas.org/doi/full/10.1073/pnas.0711679105

Now if you want to get all controversial, all this data begins calls into question the causal relationship implied by “scientists”
, and pretty much predicts that at current CO2 levels the average temperature on earth should be approximately at the boiling point 🤣

One thing scientists can agree on is the term “climate change” is directly correlated to the discovery and analysis of this blue ice!

Wait … who was it that on TNet who reported that Exxon scientists were on board with whatever Larry Fink at BlackRock told Exxon to say with regard to climate change?

(Also, with respect to ice core samples, it is my understanding that a radioactive isotope of beryllium was used to ‘beryllium date’ the age of glacial ice layers in Antarctica. The NOAA compiled this info, probably some other entities did this as well. Cool stuff, but …. If I remember properly, there is an enormously long half life of this isotope. In my status as a non-climate change person, use of such a slow decay rate isotope to measure climate change cycles that last ~ 200 years [one half of that 200 year cycle being the ‘warm’ trend and the other half being the ‘cool’ trend] is akin to the accuracy of weighing a rabbit on a weigh scale at an interstate highway exit. In other words, the measuring technique was not relevant for the item being measured.)

Falsehood flies, and truth comes limping after it, so that when men come to be undeceived, it is too late; the jest is over, and the tale hath had its effect: like a man, who hath thought of a good repartee when the discourse is changed, or the company parted; or like a physician, who hath found out an infallible medicine, after the patient is dead.

It's now called climate change. When you can't prove something, then hedge your bets on something that cannot be disproven. Hotter? Evil capitalists industries. Colder? Evil capitalists industries. It's a classic win-win.

Only when the weather does something it has never done before (stays the same) will the controversy end.
