and cannot intentionally forced with any success regardless how good a defense may be. Rarely if ever does an NFL Defense lead the league in TOs in consecutive seasons, but a Defense leading the league in TOs for that single season will appear much better than in actuality and tend to crash hard the next season because they cant replicate, create or force the turnovers that came their way in the prior season.

I recall at critical times in the game seeing; Woods, Barnes(secondary), Terrell(secondary), Lewis(secondary), Parker and Kobe McCloud all in the game.
5 true freshmen and a RS. Against a veteran QB who had weeks to prep for you. I think the defense played well despite having all that youth on display. It will serve the Tigers well moving forward.

You said it was coaching. It was not. We gave up 21 points on a lick return (Special Teams, not defense) and two TD's on blown coverages ..... not coaching mistakes. Young players will make those types of mistakes. With Mukuba, Wiggins, and trotter, I'm betting we don't make those mistakes.

On the fence. Players love the guy and for the most part his defenses have been very good. Some can’t get past the fact that his name is not Venables. Some need to remember we seen a few shizz shows with him as DC as well, and God forbid if more teams would have signaled in plays like OSU did against us in our last matchup. Our defense stood around with their hands up in the air because Venables was struggling making the calls.

If Cade was any good at qb he would have put up at least 17 more points off those turnovers the defense forced. If I recall they had several 3 and outs and then got nothing to show for it. The offense is the issue. If they do their job and score more then the defense wouldn't be on the field longer than the offense. Some of you really need to take a long look at your knowledge of sports because posting this crap makes you look like an incompetent moron.

I think Wes did a great job this year. Last year he was just okay, but this year his defense carried our team. The young guys who he depended on this game had very little experience, yet we got it done most of the day. The kickoff return they had put great pressure on us but we overcame it and our def got turnovers to win it. Thge special teams are responsible for that score and not the defense we place on the field. Wade Woodaz is going to be a great player for us. With the players we have coming in we will get stronger but we will still be young. The portal and NIL have got to have changes or college football will just become a pro minor league. When I played it was to get a free education.

If you consider the fact that one of Kentuckys TDs was a kickoff returns, and one of the big plays which turned into a score was the result of Barnes getting trucked by their WR prior to the pass, I think the D really held them to 16 points and not a bad outing at all, all things considered. I think Shelton Lewis has a very high ceiling and will get much better under Reed. #6 defense in the country during the regular season…a TON of takeaways…what exactly do you want?

It takes all kinds as they say, sorry that you aren’t happy with the effort of a defense missing 5 starters, 2 of which are among the best at their positions in all of college football.
Now, did the defense play great?? Nope, they didn’t. Did they have coverage busts, yes they did.
It’s a bowl game, young guys getting playing time and learning the speed of the game.
You can either be happy for the plays that were made, or you can focus on the negative and be “done with Wes”
