That period saw some Hella music being written and played. I remember watching the Scorsesee movie, and really liking it, before I knew who The Band was.

By the way, the Marcus King Band's drummer is from Clemson, and he is a heck of a drummer!

King and his band the Fresh Licks. I was there when they won the Battle of the Bands in 1972 at the old Memorial Auditorium. That was a big deal back then, you got to make a record. I probably still have it somewhere in a storage box in the attic. I remember the singer's name was Roger Blair. They also got to play at Charlie B's Outdoor Arena as a local opener, when the main bands were James Gang, ZZ Top, Foghat, Fleetwood Mac, Marshall Tucker, etc.

I saw the reformed Band in 1983 (iirc, can't find a listing) at a country bar in Atlanta. Robbie wasn't with them but they were great!

Ringo was always the least excitable of the Beatles. I think this has helped him live a long life. He doesn't let a whole lot bother him, it seems.
