174 - Chad Jasmin Rushed 174 Times for Clemson

Chad Jasmin mostly played fullback in high school. Jasmin became an all-around talented RB while at Clemson (2000-2003). According to Sports-Reference.com, Jasmin put up the following statistics for his Clemson career:
2000: - 11 Carries for 60 Yards (5.5 Average) - 1 Rushing Touchdown - 1 Reception for 1 Yard (1.0 Average)
2001: - 25 Carries for 121 Yards (4.8 Average) - 1 Reception for 4 Yards (4.0 Average) - 1 Receiving Touchdown
2002: - 26 Carries for 76 Yards (2.9 Average) - 1 Rushing Touchdown - 8 Receptions for 96 yards (12.0 Average) - 2 Receiving Touchdowns
2003: - 112 Carries for 523 Yards (4.7 average) - 9 Rushing Touchdowns - 7 Receptions for 26 Yards (3.7 Average)
Total (2013-2016): - 174 Carries for 780 Yards (4.5 average) - 11 Rushing Touchdowns - 17 Receptions for 127 Yards (7.5 Average) - 3 Receiving Touchdowns
But Clemson fans and Gamechicken fans alike remember Jasmin’s final regular season game for Clemson. Of Jasmin’s 9 rushing touchdowns in 2003, almost half (4) of them came in the 63-17 beatdown over the Gamechickens. And you can bet Chicken player turned announcer Todd Ellis remembers Jasmin’s performance that night as he continued to call Jasmon’s name for one touchdown after another.
Jasmin followed that performance with another strong game in Clemson’s Peach Bowl win over #6 Tennessee: 27-14. Jasmin rushed 15 times for 130 yards and a touchdown in Clemson’s win. For his efforts, Jasmin was named to ESPN’s inaugural All-Bowl team. According to ClemsonTigers.com:
Jasmin’s outstanding performance at the end of the season paralleled the Clemson team performance of the last four games of the season. In the last four games of the season, all Clemson victories, Jasmin had 58 carries for 307 yards and five touchdowns.

Jasmin’s hometown news summed up his Clemson career well According to StJamesParishToday.com:
Jasmin had a unique career at Clemson as he appeared in four bowl games for the Tigers. In the final stretch of the 2003 season, Jasmin was a key part of Clemson’s offense as he scored four touchdowns against South Carolina in a 63-17 win in Columbia.
Jasmin’s best moments as a Tiger came in their biggest games. His bowl game performances are now etched in Clemson history as he rushed for 83 yards on 16 carries in the 2001 Humanitarian Bowl, then had two catches for 22 yards and rushed for a score in the 2002 Tangerine Bowl.
The Vacherie native saved his best college performance for last as he was named the Peach Bowl MVP after rushing for 160 yards and 3 touchdowns while pulverizing the SEC’s top ranked Tennessee defense in a 27-14 victory.

After Clemson:
That same StJamesParishToday article stated that Jasmin’s high school, St. James High inducted Jasmin into its school Hall of Fame in 2021.
Today, Jasmin is a beer salesman in Louisiana. He still follows his alma mater’s football team closely. And he stays in touch with former Clemson teammates. According to the Greenville News:
Now 42 years old and a beer salesman in Thibodaux, Louisiana, Jasmin says he tries to return to Clemson for a couple of games every season but was unable to this year [2022].
Not to worry; he’s tuned in to every game.
“Whenever we’re playing, I have a party at the house,” Jasmin said. … Jasmin continues to maintain regular contact with several members of that team, including Tony Elliott, Kevin Youngblood, William Henry and DeJuan Polk, among others.
“We’re in a group text all the time,” Jasmin said. “When we’re doing bad, you ought to see the text messages blowing up.”
Fortunately, Jasmin says, there’s been plenty more good than bad for his alma mater. … [And when Jasmin was asked about his “fondest memory]:
And no doubt replay the 2003 Peach Bowl, which must be the fondest memory of his football career, right?
“No, no no,” Jasmin said. “Gotta be the game before that – beating South Carolina 63-17, at Williams-Brice (Stadium). But beating Tennessee would be No. 2.”

As for Gamechicken Todd Ellis continuously calling out Clemson touchdowns – including Touchdown Clemson and Touchdown (Chad) Jasmin – as mentioned above:

I'm glad Chad's favorite game is the win over UofSC. He will forever be recognized by those famous words, "Touchdown. Chad Jasmin."

The only time I like DST is in early deer season - gives more daylight after work to be in the woods longer.
