Up 2 OL, 1 linebacker, and at least 1 if not 2 WRs if nothing but to get some depth. We been finishing season with not enough last 3 years. It would not hurt to get another great pass rusher. I

How is our kicking situation after this year? The FSU game never should have gone to OT. We need a reliable kicker next year.

Should have never let Liam get away as he is NCs kicker now. He played in our spring game and looked the best out there. Was listed in the college magazine as our starter but they must at the last moment decided to let him go. Mistake that cost two field goals at Duke and loss to FL State.

As in: going to class, staying out of trouble, doing the tasks that Dabo puts in front of them, etc., etc.
So many tangibles that we, as fans, don't know about.

While everyone is playing checkers, Dabo is playing chess. Dabo's plan is obviously to use the portal to Clemson's advantage, but not to get players, to have a place for Clemson players who aren't cutting can go if they so desire, to free up scholarships for additional high school players who have 4+ years of eligibility. He's not going after players who couldn't cut it on other teams or players who are just chasing NIL deals.

Unless Dabo is willing to fill in where needed using the portal it will be hard for us to be at the top as we once were before all this crapola got started. I despise what is going on now but unless you adapt we will become a dinosaur. The top teams will always have a strong player at every position.

The 1-2 WR's you're looking for from the portal for depth would have kept both Tyler Brown and Antonio Williams off of our roster considering each was a lower-HS-rated and last pick-up at the position for their class. You can't have it both ways, and this is precisely the cost of the portal approach pushed by many on here.

Aiken,
The problem with your strategy is that it is a lot more difficult to assess true talent while they are still playing high school ball - and thus a lot easier to assess once you see them against college competition.

Portal players do not come to "provide depth" ....... players of the team do not stay to "provide depth". Yeah, I know what other schools have done.

I'm vowing never to comment on the portal again until we actually use it, which does not appear to be anytime soon. That is Dabo's call and he has yet to call me to ask me what I think about it. If he ever does call, I will be sure and shoot straight with him.

They’re not going to get it, ever. In their minds it’s the simplest and easiest solution to fix the program. They can’t comprehend that’s it much more complex than simply not using the portal.

So many believe that Dabo just flat refuses to use the portal, but I think we have tried getting a player or 2 from the portal, but they chose someone else over us, and I hope that he never takes someone just to prove the nay sayers wrong!!!

The portal is way overrated. We didn't have a talent issue we had a hold on to the ball issue. If the portal stopped turnovers committed by your best players / starters then maybe it would work. Dabo, you was openly against it is simply being railed on by fans who have no idea what they are saying. They just repeat what ESPN tells them to say. We had a brand new OC and a first year starter QB. Has more to do with issues than anything else. OL may be only real point, but again it was a new offense for them and Thomas Austin's first recruiting class are freshmen, He's got another year to show improvement. Remember how everyone said the Wes (an inside hire) had to go last year. Not so much now

Of Clemsons recruits. WR Wesco ranked 18 all time highest commit.
Sammy Brown ranked 10th all time highest commit. Brown is a lb. Offense and def player. Rushed 350 plus yes in playoff game.

2022 stats

Not mentioning gold medals in wrestling
Brown is hands down #1 LB and I have no idea what other awards he is up for but Mr. Football and NPOTY should be a shoo in.
Hate taking a portal lb and losing someone like these guys. Also Eziomume and other wr, ol, could de's that r monsters. I will concede a pk. I think we should use the Australian funnel system to bring in those guys. They want to be Americans and are going about it through hard work.

Dabo uses the portal.... Johnson from Northwestern and the Bama QB. We have taken two portal QBs.
