The bar HAS been raised! But stop bragging about winning a weak football conference. The fans ARE proud of Clemsons accomplishments, but to get giddy over winning the ACC after the team scraped by this season is absurd. We simply did not compete at a high level nationally, proven by ND, SC & Tenn. it’s pretty simple, fans are happy when the team over achieves, and not happy when the team underachieves. I think most Clemson fans would say the team has under achieved for two years. Dabo has lost perspective not the fans.

Don't believe Dabo has lost perspective. Most of that was coach speak. He realized that his experiment was not working and he removed the weakest link. The other coaches now realize everyone must earn the their money and are under review. I think you will see a much different team in September. I agree though the play against the 3 teams you mentioned were well below our normal play.

Promoting Streeter to OC from within the program was not an 'experiment', it was the logical extension of what had been working for Dabo and the program during our historic run. The last true experiment I recall from Dabo was the Morris hire, which worked out well enough. This reasoning extends to DC as well with the Goodwin promotion. If it turns out that he isn't the right guy for the position after all, he will make adjustments there also. Happy Wes is getting another go at it this season ahead.

It has indeed put Clemson in an unfavorable position against the programs with lots of"well heeled" alumini. Wonder how he would do with Texas A& M style backers?? Dabo is still one of the top 5 head coaches in college football. Go Tigers!!!

The problem with that statement is that the NIL is here. Either he and Clemson will raise tbe bar or what happened this season will not be the last time. I don't like tbe way tbe college game is going, but I can't change it. If Clemson wants more Natty's the NIL money and the portal will become neccessary evils. If not.. well we all know what that is.

Perhaps you should take a moment and recall the state of the program when you created your TNet account then practice an ounce of gratitude. The loss to USuCk was the longest stretch of time between losses in the history of the program and you act like you’re entitled to more.

I agree with coach. I went to 3 ACC Championship games . I stopped going because the prices for a GOOD seat has risen beyond my reasonable expectations for a decent price.

The acc is not as bad as everyone says, and the sec is not as good as everyone says.
However, both are trending up and sec is more so with NIL.
For instance, the acc Atlantic if QBs stayed healthy was one of the best divisions in cfb, for the first half THE best last season.
Also, 2016 was the last year the acc was clearly better than the sec as a league, sweeping all major awards, natty, heisman, and head to head.
That should never happen when looking at the difference in spending, but it did.
The acc suffers from being so close in proximity to the sec and having more private schools, but all things considered faces the sec more than anyone and holds its own at times. What other conference would do better vs the “juggernaut” sec?

I’m as loyal as they come. I love Clemson AND Dabo Swinney. However, I get irritated when he gets preachy on how we as fans should act and what we should appreciate. I’m a realist too!

Ya'll are so ungrateful man. Dabo had a literal turnip at QB the past 2 years. Who lost to the national champion's UGA by a single score in 2021. Who missed the 2022 CFP by a single score. Three 3 and outs, and 2 fumbles vs Carolina. The margin is thin.
The sky isn't falling. But it will be falling if Saban retires and Dabo leaves for Bama... Be appreciative is all he's said.

I can say we underachieved considering our previous 8-10 years but I could also see the last two years being a over-achievement considering the handicap of having a QB who can't think goes brain dead after the ball is snapped.
I believe if we had played Cole a lot in the first 4-5 games then started him thereafter we would have killed USCe and UT.
I can excuse that wrong if Dabo was thinking that Cole might be mentally damaged by early NCAA career failure or maybe struggled to grasp the playbook. He said the best QB started and it's hard to imagine him lying about it. I wish he would just explain why he started DJ and let that putz destroy our post season.

No, the ACC is not the strongest top-to-bottom football conference in America, but it's not the worst by any stretch.
Winning the ACC is an accomplishment worthy of a playoff bid, if we beat uSC.
