I drove through Clumbyuh last night on the way back from vacation.

By the time I made it to the north side of the “city” on I-26, I suddenly realized I had been involuntarily scratching my neck and slapping my forearms to try to distend my veins. Needless to say, this awareness was disturbing. I shook my head, blinked hard several times to make sure I wasn’t nodding off, and took a quick look at my face in the overhead mirror. The face I saw staring back at me had a tattooed tear outside my left eye, sunken cheeks, and meth mouth. I screamed and swatted the mirror away. It was all I could do to keep from swerving into the adjacent lane and hitting the lifted Chevy Caprice with the M&M vinyl wrap job cruising beside me. I gathered myself, exited for the Dutch Fork area, and drove straight to Chick-Fil-A. I ran into the bathroom, splashed some water on my face, and peered hesitantly into the mirror over the sink. Thankfully, I saw my normal appearance - nothing bizarre or disordered. I ordered a spicy chicken sandwich meal, enjoyed every bite of it amid a chorus of “my pleasure,” and drove further north without incident.
Do *not* be naive when you travel through that part of the state, Tigers. There is a twisted, evil force filling the very air you breathe down there, and it only becomes blacker as you approximate Williams Brice Stadium. Steel your mind, focus your spirit, and check your six.

i too have experienced similar episodes such as you have described when i lived in clumbyah.always went quickly to the chik-fil-a in dutch square mall for a sandwich and an orange julius.like narcan they act to alleviate the symptoms quite fast.like the creative spelling.

I don’t think it’s a bad idea at all to pack narcan if you intend on traveling on I-26 or I-20 through the Midlands

Good advice. I also heard their bowling alleys were shut down through this year and at least through next.

Seems like experiencing Clumbyuh would effectively prevent the recreational use of hallucinogens if it’s anything like what I lived through last night.
