I'm sure ol ChestyPuller0311® knows all about it.
The Pacific is a good WWII series on Netflix. Yep I'm just now getting around to watching The Pacific and Band of Brothers.

I'm still astounded by the sacrifice made in WWII and the insanity of the invasions by Germany and Japan.

It drives me nuts when I see our National Anthem disrespected at sporting events. Looking at you USuC Womens Basketball.

Bloody Hundreth. It is incredible and shocking.

The World War II story of the Eighth Air Force's 100th Bomb Group, which came to be known as the “Bloody Hundredth,” made its way to TV screens this year with the release of the Steven Spielberg-Tom Hanks series “Masters of the Air.”

It's scary to think about how tiny events changed history drastically. Like if Germany had taken the Caucasus oil fields and Moscow instead of banging their head against the brick wall that was stalingrad. A city that held ZERO military importance. All because hitler wanted to take it since it was named after Stalin.

Yep, I watched a documentary on the Stalingrad siege recently.

Russians burned their own homes outside the city so the approaching Nazi's couldn't use them for shelter or supplies. That's commitment to winning.

Many of our citizens don't have a clue how good they have it. At least they have the freedom to complain.

Sergio Leone was just about to make an epic about Stalingrad, but he passed.

I always tell fellow citizens that if they can flip a switch on their wall and have instant light and turn a knob on their sink to have instant drinkable water then they have more than the majority of the rest of human beings living on Earth. So, whenever I witness someone complaining about their $11.00 coffee order at Starbucks or high gas prices, I tend to become disheartened by the attitudes of my fellow countrymen. The saddest sight to witness is those who place their faith in government instead of independent self-reliance. To this day, I will never understand it. I'm truly grateful for my Marine Corps experiences and recommend a same path for every young man I encounter in my day-to-day life.

Our country won't go on forever, if we stay soft as we are now. There won't be any America because some foreign soldiery will invade us and take our women and breed a hardier race.

Band of Brothers by far the best.

The Pacific is solid.

Masters of the Air is worth watching, but not as good.

They are the two best war movies/series ever done!

A friend of mine has one. I've seen a few in some auctions lately but just haven't pulled the trigger (no pun) on buying one.

Of course, so was John Basilone and Dan Daly. However, Chesty is a legend in the Corps and was an iconic hero for many. His son unfortunately had a much different experience in Marine Corps service but was nonetheless a hero for many as well. However, Chesty was my type of Marine. A real dirty, gritty, and hard-nosed kind of man. I believe he was once quoted as saying, "take me to the brig, I want to meet the real Marines." What a Marine Corps legend. By the way, The Pacific is a great mini-series.
