Go to goupstate. com and look at the pic of sc's great de, no wonder he has such good stats. He is never called for offsides and you can see for yourself of how he tackles qb's. This is one thing that concerns me about the Tigers game with them because it will be $ec referees. Actually suprised that goupstate.com would put this pic up because they are mostly usuc backers and have cornkoot on their site.

Seems we'd be working extra on hard snap counts to offset the jumps and anticipations of their D line. Wonder if anyone else is trying this.

I agree, he jumps early almost every snap. I know it would be hard to see by an official on the field but it seems that the head of officials could definitely review film and see the tendancy for him to do so. That is a tremendous advantage to get that little jump.

I assume then you are a usuc fan if you can not see his hand in the face mask of the qb, the qb's helmet is turned so much he is looking out the ear hole. Ohter's on here can confirm if you are as I beleive.

The only picture I saw of the quarterback's helmet turned, his hand on was on the back of the helmet - which is allowed? You are allowed to tackle by the helmet - the rule states you can not grab a helmet anywhere that your fingers can penetrate (lol). Such as the actual face mask, or ear holes. The rule was expressly talked about on a bogus facemask call where a Gamecock made a tackle by holding onto the 'forehead' area of a helmet -> they talked about the rule, and read it on the air.
But sure, Clowney is always offsides, no one calls it, and he only tackles by grabbing (also un-called) face masks.

Back of the helmet? Try looking at the picture again. Clowney's left hand is down by the QB's hip and his right hand has a full handful of facemask. Look at that big garnet glove holding onto the mask.

That just off sets the number of times he has been held without a flag.It seems to even out.There were 3 pictures a couple of weeks ago showing him being held by a least 2 people at the same time while dragging them to make the tackle.

I'd assume so. College referees usually get the calls correct a good portion of the time (the opposing team's fans will always say otherwise) but he had a face full of facemask and it was undoubtedly unintentional there but I'm sure that's where the flag was.
