At this point in the season what is he supposed to do to make you happy?
Is he supposed to resign effective immediately?
Is he supposed to fire the entire offensive coaching staff.
Right now this week, what is he supposed to do?
You could say replace Cade, but no one is ready and the FACT that Cade is not ready speaks volumes.
So if you are Dabo Swinney what do you do Monday moring?

😂 To be fair I don’t think he can be credited with either. Jeff Scott went deep into Miami Hialeah/Homestead area and got those guys. Jeff Scott then left and started recruiting against us and Dabo didn’t have the feelers out down there. Those same rocket footed Hatians are now staying in Miami and FSU.

Do we forget that Tommy Bowden stepped down in the middle of the year and Dabo was hired? I by no means am suggesting that he step down, but I am saying that the change needed at some position coaches is so obvious that there is no reason to wait until the end of the season. At least tell them that they will let go and see if they take Bowden's route.

Other position coaches for other teams are not going to quit mid-year and leave. After bowl season we'll see some changes. Now we could try to lock Jeff Scott in (make him assistant head coach and recruiting coordinator if he's interested).

I don't expect it to happen, but the OP wanted to know what we would like to see done. As for their interim replacements what difference does it make. We have GA's that can't do much worse and the season is shot anyhow.
At least recruits would know there would be some upgrades next year. If I was Wesco's Dad, I would seriously discourage him from relying on Grisham for any part of his future. Early signing day comes before bowl season. Why should we not let recruits no who or in this case who they will not be playing for?

To answer OP’s question, he should proactively say the bare minimum and answer questions humbly and respectfully succinct. In general, stop trying to talk his way out of this. The more he says the worse this gets. Shocking he doesn’t see that. Spend less time talking and more time working to help our coaches and players produce a better product on the field, win games, and ultimately let our play do the talking.

He should run ads advertising for running backs and quarterbacks who DON’T FUMBLE. THAT more than anything has killed us. Fumbles change the momentum and the psyche of the team.

I’ve posted a whole lot of concerns. Losing sucks, and losing the way we have really sucks. I’m not a coach, so my opinions about how to fix it doesn’t matter. It’s hard to watch. But I’m still gonna watch. Just who I am. And I am still hopeful that Dabo can turn it around but don’t think it’s going to be a quick fix. I said hope not blind faith. It’s that hope that seems to cause some people on here jump to saying people like me don’t see the issues or have our heads in the sand or up some other crevice. It’s not that at all. I just don’t have time for negativity in my life. When something bad happens I move on to looking for something good. And lately that something good hasn’t been associated with Clemson football. I flushed that game and moved on before they interviewed Doreen. I’m not going to let the outcome of football games make me a miserable person. There are too many good things in my life to let the outcome of football games or even seasons to have that type of effect on me. Doesn’t mean I like it.
I saw a commercial during the game yesterday for a drug that treats something called anger in Alzheimer’s or something like that. Said the symptoms were screaming and cursing and repeatedly asking the same questions over and over. I felt compelled to tell my wife and daughter that wasn’t going on with me when I watch the game and constantly yell at the TV things like “What the h$ll are you doing?!?”

He could say that changes are going to be made. That would not only make us happy but some of our incoming talent might get excited.
He could admit that he has been stubborn in the face of change and that we’re going to see a different Clemson in years to come. It wouldn’t change this season but hope springs eternal

Thank you. Yes changes need to be made, but you are not saying that publicly and mid-season. He basically said we need to make changes but Garrett is capable of making those changes.

He needs to own it all and spell it all out.
Just one statement after the State game that he’s responsible doesn’t cut it.
He needs to own the bad coaching hires, the poor player development, the recruiting misses, all of it.
His statement is a cop out.
Most of us if we were responsible for something at work and it went this wrong in such a big way would be fired on the spot.
His past success buys him time. But not the continued fawning of the fans. People have a right to complain and vent. And I hope Dabo, his family and all the coaches hear it everywhere they go in Clemson.

Instead of telling us that this is a good football team, just tell us the truth. We all know this is a bad football team that’s poorly coached. So just go ahead and say that.
He can also admit that this is all his fault for not recognizing this inevitability sooner. This was the most obvious consequence of failing to adapt to this new era of college football. It’s time for Dabo to admit that to himself and the fanbase.

I believe that Dabo knows the problem just like every defensive coordinator in the ACC. Things will not change until the offensive line can protect the QB long enough for receivers to get open and for the QB to find them. Defenses only have to protect the first ten yards from scrimmage. No non-veteran QB is going to be productive without improved line play.

We will evaluate everyone at season's end. Everyone knows tbat they are accountable for tjier positions and position groups. If your area is not up to championship caliber, then you must no that in this business it's about performance not relationships. I'd love to hear him say that, but he's not going to. He believes he is always right!!

1. I think people want him to actually identify the issues with the team that everyone sees, and blame it on the coaching and fundamentals his players haven't developed, as well as how he plans to address it. Not give the same speech every week about being a couple plays for winning or calling it bizarre like he has no idea how to fix those issues.
2. No, he doesn't need to resign.
3. He should fire almost the entire offensive coaching staff and give Riley complete authority to actually hire his people. Riley should be reaching out to potential folks right now. We also should be trying to steal that S&C coach from UGA.
4. No, Cade's our best QB. Vizzina sucked even in high school. But Riley needs to actually hire an elite QB coach so he can focus on the entire offense.

This should underscore the importance of a spokesperson when doing our next coaching hire. He says a lot of things that people cringe at. Maybe we should lose the folksy Sarah Palin-esque image and project a stoic matter of fact like one.

Dabo has owned every bit of what is his to own...
A good start would be for you to be a fan and not just a fair-weather bandwagon guy... plenty of football left, starting Saturday.
