In times like these how do we really feel about Coach?

I think it is easy to think that Dabo doesn't feel our pain but you know he does. Times like these are pretty lonely for a head coach when everyone is questioning your every move and wondering what is going on with your program. It is times like these that you have to close the locker room doors, gather everyone around you, and remind them who they are. They are family. At times like these, culture matters most. At times like these, no one will ever love you more than family.

I guess we have to ask ourselves, during times like these, are we a family or are we simply disgruntled fans...

Go Tigers... in both good and bad times. From a member of your family.

Are the kids ok? Kathleen ok? Did his dog just die?
Somehow I’m struggling to reach your level of empathy. It’s hard to dismiss the $10 million he makes.

Get over the salary thing.

Losing games hurts.

Football is a Game. Dabo ifs the Coach. It is his Job. Most of us are a part of a team (family with common goals). The resources at our disposal to accomplish those goals matter. When we fail despite those resources the pity party is very brief and we don’t make excuses. We regroup.

Thousands and thousands agree with your remark. Get over this. Clemson is still Clemson. Many of us make our contribution to the cause. Many DO NOT. It’s still the Clemson Tigers. Win lose or draw!

Dabo has been questioned his entire career. He was a D+ hire after all.

I believe that he is a very introspective person. That's evident by his decision to replace Streeter with Riley after one season. More introspection will be coming, especially if our streak of 10+ wins comes to and end, which I believe that it will.

The best D+ higher in history of D+ hiring, agreed ??

From D+ to A+ and the mountaintop in only 7 seasons, impressive indeed.

My Dad was and AD and a head football coach for many years at the high school level. I can tell you, regardless Dabo's contract, that he takes every loss hard. You can't coach any sport at any level without despising a loss. Privately, coaches question everything after a loss. We only see the public comments. Dabo has to concern himself with the psyche of his coaches and players. I believe Dabo has a very competitive spirit. I'm pretty sure, he would prefer to be the darling of college football vs 2-2. With that said, he should be questioned about coaching hires and player development. He should be questioned about his lack of use with the portal. With that said, Clemson football is bigger than Dabo, Danny, or any other coach. If he does not get the job done, Clemson football will eventually change direction. Until then, enjoy the tailgating, cold beer, and friends. Don't allow your happiness to be predicated on a win or a loss.

Don't worry, Dabo's $10.5 million keeps him company.

Sarcasm aside, I'm confident that he doesn't like to lose and is finding this season to be incredibly frustrating. No one should question his desire to see us win more.

With that said, he is paid very well to prevent these issues from happening in the first place. And if they do, he's responsible for addressing them swiftly.

I'm sure he's trying hard to right the ship.

...been tuff, no matter how rich you are.

I don't know if he will ever be a better game day coach. He needs talent around him and to be a CEO.

He's great in front of the camera and great in the living rooms of recruits.

But you if take away the talent that was around him like BV, Hobby, and Brooks - then replace them with a sophomorish staff, is what you get.

Like you said, he's paid to make better decisions and more importantly, to have a championship caliber team which we clearly are not.

Exactly. Without top assistants, we are back to the 2010

version of Clemson football that has talent but can't seem to put it all together.

To clarify, I feel that this team is certainly better than the 2010 team, but there are a lot of similarities in terms of inexperienced coaches at key positions and talent that isn't performing up to expectations.

He won championships without the other two. BV came here after being demoted and coaching the 32nd ranked defense in the country. There were quite a few naysayers here. But you still lean in to this trope that Dabo can’t coach and just needs to be a CEO. Chad Morris not only had only 1 year of college coaching experience, he didn’t even play college football. Somehow that worked out. You should also quit bouncing these idea off of JK. He’s not a fan and these are the types of negativity he wants to solicit. I believe you’re a fan and we process our Clemson grief differently, but JK is not. He just wants negative vibes around the football program.

So you are saying there should be consequences for coaches who are paid a lot of money not winning games?

I agree...

Too bad it doesn't apply in basketball.

Feeling pain? Dabo consciously made the decisions that got us here. He has to know that he made the wrong call on the portal, NIL, and nepotistic hiring. Instead of correcting the problems, he is doubling down on them.

I feel for Dabo as a man. I’ve always believed he is a good man (not without flaws, we all have them). That I’ve never once worried about a former Clemson player telling stories like what happened at Northwestern, Penn St or other schools where men lost their sense of morality is worth a lot to me as a Clemson graduate.

I also feel for any leader/business owner who comes to the realization, what worked in the past may not work now. Those are hard changes to make, especially when you believe what you’re doing is the right thing by people.

I know what people say about the money and I wouldn’t argue that should warrant increased accountability. But for a truly competitive coach who loves the game (Dabo qualifies) I don’t believe any amount of money would wipe away the frustration of the kinds of losses we’ve had recently.

College football changed a ton over the past 5 years, mostly for the worse, imo. It was hard back when Dabo got the head coaching job to thread the needle on doing it the right way and winning. Way harder now. I hope he continues to find balance in internal/external hiring and recruiting, portal usage, realities of college football that are not going away. And I hope he has at least one “no” person in the program. Someone who can call him on BS, even if only in private, People who win a lot and at a very high level often times, over time, and sometimes without realizing, build echo chambers and yes councils that perpetuate winning beliefs but don’t necessarily help perpetuate winning. I wonder if this has happened to some degree. I wonder who on our staff is that “no” guy for Dabo.

Go Tigers!

Love Dabo forever, but I wish he would stop with the 3 or 4
