Crazy that we have 5 scholarships tied up in special teams.... I know we are lucky Swanson came back, but we have 2 scholarship QBs and 2 kickers, 2 punters, and one long snapper on scholarship.

I guess its the way it is now.... and a good kicker you can argue is just as important as any other position, but just seems odd.

I'm glad I don't have to manage an 85 scholarship limit.

And I know the kickers/punters always get made fun of.... just piling it on I guess.

I would not one bit..... If he can't get his head right by the end of spring practice, I don't have confidence he will over the summer.

Great leg, but what happened at the beginning of last season with our FB/XP can't happen this year.

and, in fairness, the job was his to lose last year and he couldn't hold on to it. You have one job, and there is no place on a team for a kicker who can't make kicks. He did do pretty well on kickoffs though.

A good accurate kicker that can put it between the post from 45 + about 97-98% of the time, they are worth a lot of points throughout the season, so yes, a good kicker is well worth a full ride scholarship any season...

I hear ya. Last year was a kicking circus and Dabo can't let that happen again. Let's hope that spring ball will settle things once and for all, and we come out with a dependable field goal kicker.
