The great Tannyhill years resulted in a 2-2 record against us.

Defense usually takes more time. A couple of big WR's and a stud OL will make a world of difference. How you want to get those guys is the big question.

I remember the dark days of Spurrier's little 5-game "streak" against us. For those of us living in SC, it was insufferable having to deal with the coots.

So every time we beat those idiots, I cherish it.

I live in Raleigh and it was bad here. There seems to be quite a few dirtpeckers in the Triangle. Any chance to remind them of 63-17 is fine with me.

You can be happy for the win and still acknowledge reality.

Cade reminds me of Kyle Parker, and this is the worst group at WR we’ve had in 15 years.

Cade has some maturing to do get to Kyle Parker level IMO

… similar talent from what I recall, but Kyle had a fire and desire to run through a brick wall that I don’t see in Cade yet.

Hopefully a great spring will help Cade get to where we all think he can be. I believe it will happen.

Is always very enjoyable but, it is U of So Car ! I like to see my team defeat teams with a history of being a solid team… like Clemson is!

In the history of college football the gamecocks have never been a very good team. Occasionally they have a winning record!
Beating up on cripples isn’t very nice.

Why put yourself on the same level as that disgusting group from Bull Street?

Play Bryn Myer (sic ) or some other tough group of girlies !

DW/TL/Mike Williams/Sammy Watkins/Tee Higgins/Travis Etienne/CJ Spiller/etc.. We have a lot of really good players, but our offense doesn't have anybody like that that can single-handedly break a game wide open and take over. That kind of talent covers up and makes up for a lot of mistakes. We don't have those guys this year. Yes, I agree we have other problems that need to be addressed, but that's the biggest difference I see. We still have those guys on defense, and that's why we have a top 10 D. We're also very young, and without those elite players, we are going to have to recruit them, portal them in, or develop them.

We're not far off, and just a couple of those guys would make a world of difference. I fully understand that we made need to make some changes, and I am not minimizing or opposed to it. 8-4 SUX out loud and in color to us because we are used to playoffs and championships, and that's fine. It's just not the end of the world. Dabo has proven he can get it done, more than once. He's not an old man and he has proven he's capable of adapting and working through adversity, and he hasn't forgotten how. Have a little faith in the guy who built the program and brought us TWO national championships.

I nervously laugh a little reading the initial post. I’ve learned this better than ever this my 52nd year. I’ve had multiple hospitalizations due to a mystery that was causing recurrent pancreatitis. Then, my pancreas failed. It stopped making the enzymes my body needs to absorb nutrients. I started slowly starving to death. It’s called exocrine pancreatic insufficiency. Two biopsies and several procedures later and they THINK they know the cause. A rare, new autoimmune disease called IG4 is the culprit. There’s no cure for either. The enzyme therapy costs around $6k per month (cash price) and my energy levels are nonexistent. We had to sit out our normal home games this year. I just don’t have the energy to sit up my giant tailgating setup in Lot 5 right now.

The irony of it all is that I always made sure my Dad came to the Valley with me because I was afraid he wouldn’t be around next year. I was trying to repay him for bringing me as a kid in the 70’s and teaching me there’s nothing like Clemson. The reality is that he may outlast me. Heck, there’s a better chance he will be here longer than me at this point. I’m not bitter, or upset; at least not anymore. That lasted around two days (personal pity party). I’m just happy to be here. I’m thankful for the bond that Clemson football has given me new family in friends who became family over the years. I’m not as active as a lot of you guys on here; it’s just because I only get active during football season.

The really funny thing is that there was a time when I dreamed of another Clemson national championship before my father passed. I got to experience two more with him. I started to expect more to come more often. Have I been upset about things? Sure. But, I have thoroughly enjoyed the Dabo Swinney era. I’m so blessed to have seen us ascend the mountain two more times. I’m hoping for one more before I go home.

So, enjoy the ride. Dabo says “is not a destination, it’s a journey!” I couldn’t agree more at this moment. None of us are guaranteed tomorrow.
