Not a fan of Old Bay. To me, frogmore stew is so highly seasoned that you can’t really taste the shrimp.

You are most certainly correct. Putting old bay on good seafood is like putting ketchup on a good steak. It totally masks the taste of what you are eating.

Both all day! Then have a crab boil the next day, then have seared tuna next day, then shrimp kebabs, then fish fry, then next day fried fish chowder, then sushi, and then maybe some mussels in white wine garlic sauce, then some fried calimari, etc, etc, etc.
I love me some seafood.

I’d say low country boil. Especially if you are cooking for a crowd. Just remember, over season your water! You can’t put too much spice in!

It is in my house. Names for this delicious dish vary but mean the same thing. Kinda like Mahi, Dorado, or Dolphin. Same fish different names. Or Redfish, Spot Tail Bass, or Red Drum. Same fish different names. A matter of personal preference I guess.

When did Beaufort stew become Low Country Boil?
This time of year, good salty local oysters are the best.
Pretty common in the lowcountry to have both. Oysters first, then Beaufort stew.

I like to do a low Country boil and then when you pull it out drop in a dozen oyster in the hot water for a few min and have both.
