It was just passed to me, a native Greenvillian, who has been watching the state 'invasion' with wonderment.
The 13 min video, about the top places to live (move to?) in SC is interesting, as are the many attached comments.

Ha! Ha! Love it -Definitely terrifying!
Surprisingly, Greenville, per se, was not listed as a 'must move here' destination in the top ten video, but Clemson was!
Several great places were presented, and briefly described as "suburb of ..."

Most of it seems ok except some of the school data. I have no idea what they were looking at other than purely graduation rates. Some of those places have terrible public schools so I hope you are planning to send your kids to private school.
For the Charleston area ones, I wouldn’t live on James Island with kids unless I had money for private school. I’ve heard good things about Hanahan and yes, Mount Pleasant prices are out of control. There aren’t many native South Carolinians left around here - especially Mt Pleasant.

Hanahan has been infected with a new progressive liberal mayor and the alphabet soup mentality has creeped into the public school system. It’s disgusting watching these young youth destroy their lives in a town that has been a Christian conservative community for decades.

I grew up on Johns Island and we went to private schools in the 70s because the public schools were so bad. The education at the private schools probably want a lot better but at least it was safe. James Island HS was supposed to be better back then but it was probably just marginally better. We go back to Johns Island to visit my brother and sister about once a month. The traffic on James Island and Johns Island have become the stuff of nightmares.

James Island Charter has a pretty good reputation. I do believe that Hanahan is a little overrated. Mt Pleasant schools are all good. Wando and Beckham are really good.

Was Gaffney in the video? I didn't watch but I'm sure it's a top destination in SC. We got a Walmart and a bowling alley so yall stop on by and see us.

Nope. Sadly (?), Gaffney with the Peach, Limestone Univ, etc. didn't make it on this list.
Recommendations closest to you are Fort Mill and Mauldin, SC.
Gaffney will have to try harder to make the 'invasion' list.

if the rest of the state broke off and sank to the bottom of the ocean to be lost forever, never to be seen again, and Gaffney was all that remained, I'm still not sure it would be a top destination in SC.

Born and raised in Fort Mill and moved back 25 years ago for the schools. Still love the area…but Ft. Mill, Tega Cay, and even Indian Land are growing like crazy. Built a home in 2018 and has almost doubled in value.

No…long-time teleworker fortunately. When I did commute it was from the other side of rock hill to uptown…even back in the early 2000’s that was at least an hour each way. Heard it is worse now.

Lot of great people in that town, though. And a majority of people are SC natives. Could be the last frontier once the trendy places are full. Wife and I are SC natives (I bet Sumter isn’t on the list, either), and are doing our best to move further and further away from the masses.
