I know everybody has seen and heard the comments made by Terry Kinard, his son Jaden, and Dabo Swinney. Hopefully you've also seen my comments after talking to a lot of people.
Coach was prepared to answer if he had been asked during the NSD presser, but he wasn't asked. In lieu of that, I've been given what his answer would have been.
"I appreciate the opportunity to address some comments that were made. Basically, we just had an accountability run that Coach Batson, he schedules these runs all throughout the year with our accountability teams. Most of the teams didn't have to run. A couple of teams - one team in particular - had to run several over and backs. There were about five or six guys that got their butts chewed out and they earned it. Football at this level isn't for everyone. The commitment, discipline, accountability, toughness. It's hard at this level. That's really all there is to say. I appreciate the opportunity to say it."

I'm not advocating removing his name from the ROH but if he truly feels that way...why not.

and Batson's "Accountability Run" just revealed that. Football is a tough game, and to play you have to work hard in preparation. Sounds like young Master Kinard did not have the right stuff to be a football player at this level.
What is shocking to me is that a guy like Terry Kinard, who CERTAINLY dealt with coaching during his playing years that was AT LEAST as rigorous (probably moreso given who his head coach was), was so quick to fold up like that. If anyone knows his son and knows Dabo well enough to figure out what's really going on here, it's Terry Kinard. Lost all respect for him. I would expect A LOT MORE from a Ford-era Tiger.

While I agree with your sentiment 100% we actually don't know what TK tried to do beforehand. If he is anything like what he used to be he most definitely would have tried to talk to Dabo before posting. He may have just not liked what Dabo had to say. One thing about Dabo is he never apologizes for being tough on the kids and never apologizes for loving too much on the kids. He also doesn't say "he's lying" or "he's a liar", he just tells his side of the story just like what David Hood wrote and leaves it at that. TK very likely didn't hear what he wanted to hear so he went school girl on Dabo. That's just my take anyways. Go Tigers!

Nobody would have had a clue or any kind of notion about him quitting the team after a tough love moment didn't sit well, but instead Pops has to go all public and emotional about it and make it everybody's business. Like the Big Dave snipes at Dabo and the program after DJ left, it accomplishes nothing except putting an unwanted and difficult burden on their kids, all for some kind of self-important spotlight moment. Pops ain't the ones having to put their money where their mouth is - their kids have to put their money where Pops' mouth is.

I have an old Bear Bryant book, and he told about a problem situation with a really good player. The father got involved; the player transferred to another school; and he was never heard of again.
According to The Bear, "When a daddy gets involved, the kid usually doesn't stand a chance."
Unfortunately, this seems to be the case with TK and his son.

have easily been solved if Terry Kinard had just talked with the coaches involved, instead of becoming a keyboard warrior.
If ANYBODY should understand hard coaching, it is Terry Kinard. Practices under Coach Danny Ford were the stuff of brutal legend. Any retrospective I have seen on that 1981 Championship team, the former players make a POINT of saying they knew they were in better shape than the opposition, due to those practices.
So, how do we get from that to suddenly one of those players condemning the whole Clemson program for doing a PALE version of the same for his son? It doesn't make sense. I can only surmise that some wild exaggeration about what really happened was provided by young Jaden, to try and save face and not incur Daddy's wrath. And, sounds like Daddy bought it, hook, line, and sinker.
If that truly is the case, Terry Kinard did his son no favors. The truth of what went on will become readily apparent to the next coach who takes him on, if anyone does. Coaches have a fraternity too, just like players.

"Accountability" is definitely a four letter word for this generation. I have seen it in my own household, sadly. My oldest child was my In-Laws ONLY grandchild until my second son came along six years later, and they flat spoiled him rotten, despite protests from me. What we got was an overentitled young man who thought he deserved anything he wanted without having to work for it, since that was the way it had always been growing up. It took a couple near brushes with the law to disabuse him of that notion.

I’m not gonna get on here and dog this kid. He may have screwed up (or may not have). Either way, parents get sideways about their kids and it sounds like that’s what happened here. It also sounds like the kid wasn’t singled out. TK was a great player and I wished he had picked up the phone and hashed it out with Dabo. I know plenty of parents who lost their minds over youth sports only to regret it later. Airing it out on FB is never, never, never a good idea.

Uhhhhhh………I’m just gonna label this “big ol’ crybaby”.
If he was on the team I was on, he would have had to run the entire circumference of campus, multiple times and run and/or hop the entire visitors side of Death Valley, multiple times…..just basic preseason training. What a wimp. I don’t recall anyone quitting back in the day. What I recall was teammates racing.

One thing I will say is the kids side has not come out, we do not know what he said or thinks. For all we know he wasn't crying to his dad but just organically brought it up(something like "coach Swinney was tough on me the last few practices, wonder if hes mad at me for transferring") and his Dad took up his pitch fork on his own.
