The NIL collective is concentrating on retention. Last year there were at least 7 guys who were headed to NFL or the portal that the NIL convinced to stay for another year. (Verse, Travis, Benson, Wilson, etc.) Those 7 guys are now gone. Gotta replace them. Haven't had enough time to build quality through HS recruiting. (The Orange Bowl showed that 18-19 year old kids aren't ready to play against elite competition.) It will take at least two more top ten classes before Norvell doesn't have to go to the portal to pick up 5-10 guys who are ready to plug and play. The DL you posted is from Furman. He is expected to be in the rotation, but not expected to be all-conference. RB will be in the rotation, but is expected to fill a big hole at KR and PR. He has 2 years of eligibility left. Have 3 other guys committed as well. But, you probably won't see a Keon Coleman or Braden Fiske among them.

He's a guy from Colorado State. But, the description is still the same. Will be in the rotation, but not of Braden Fiske quality.

I enjoyed watching Fiske in the ACC Championship. Dominant and nasty.

FSU has not recruited like Clemson until the last year or two, so the portal fills the spots. It seems like they are recruiting well now, so the number of portal guys will drop, as it is now. This is the NIL world, gotta take advantage of it.
