Passing Game Coordinator

I’m probably showing my ignorance, but just what does a passing game coordinator do that our OC doesn’t do and do most large schools have this position?

Georgia and LSU both have one, and Bama has an assistant head coach of offense. Those were the only three I checked.

some of the immense load that falls on OCs & DCs, run/pass game coord are assigned specific portions of the info to help in breaking down and then building game plans vs opponents.
As someone mentioned, it carries more responsibility and therefore a bit more money.

What we need is an OL development coordinator. Our OL continues to be our weakest link, even though there are other in-strong phases of our team. Our left side is pathetic!

It’s not a title that existed in 2011 when we brought Chad Morris onboard. I think we have a too many cooks situation more than Dabo shouldn’t hire certain folks situation. Dabo needs to scale back the strap hangers and have no more than 4 coaches talking to the players on each side of the ball. The “support staff” section of our media guy is borderline parody (and yes I know it’s this way at a lot of schools but it isn’t correlating to success here).

As far as I can tell, it’s just a title to allow Dabo a pay more to an assistant. Same for Conn as co-coordinator.
