In the end, doing the basic things the right way is still the best way. Many eateries have forgotten this, but not P&B's.
Havent been in a dozen years unti last night and was delighted to find theyre as unpretentious as ever.
A place that's comfortable in its own skin.
The service is still friendly and on-point.
The prices are still reasonable.
The barkeep still knows his business.
And the steaks are still awful dang good.

Per their website, the Corontzes family still owns both restaurants.

Havent been up to Vangelis.
Erwin's is good. Bumped (literally) into Skalski there one night. It was like bumping into a traffic bollard. I bounced off of him, not visa versa.
And he was the one who apologized although I was the one who was at fault.
I found that noteworthy.

reasonable prices, good quality control on the cuisine, nice choices on the menu, i dont remember them messing anything up too often over the years, friendly peoplel up front....of course, there is high turnover on most of the waiters with the college kids, but the bartenders tend to be there a while and they do very well...the place is casual enough to relax, but nice enough to impress your first time guests...my favorite go to in clemson

Ate there for the first time in June while around for my 50th class reunion. Was not disappointed with anything. Thought the prices would be more expensive.
