Previously used cartridge razors but have been trying disposables with varied results. What works for you and what was not good if you tried several( any type)?

Gillete Mach 3 are the best but expensive. They do last a long time though.

I use the Mach 3 and find I need to replace the cartridge about every 4 weeks. I don’t have a heavy beard though.

I only shave probably 4x a wk and I think I get easily 2mos before I feel like I am working too hard to get close shave. Actually maybe little longer than 2mos. I bought an 8pk over 2yrs ago and just grabbed the last one this wk. But I did grow a small beard for couple months last yr too. But I still kept edges trimmed.

Five-blade razor cartridges with a flex hinge so the blades follow the contours of your face. Blades also have a lubricating strip. The refills arrive by mail every few months.

I supplement that with a Philips Norelco rechargeable shaver when I'm traveling.

Of all the electric shavers that I've tried, I guess the Braun Series 3 3040s was the one. I still have it, but I only use it when I'm out of town. At home I'm sticking with the Gellett Fusion, none better IMO...

Disposables aren’t heavy enough to pull through easily. Gillette Mach 3 as previously noted is nice and heavy in the handle. If you shave in the shower you can get two months out of a cartridge on 3-4 shaves a week. I use Edge shaving gel because it helps with a smoother shave without much gel needed.

Pig I have been using the Gillette Fusion for over 10 years, and I don't know if there is anything on todays market that's any better bc I haven't had a reason to change or look for anything else. I have a heavy beard, and since going complete bald on top I shave my head every time I shave my face about twice a week.

I have never not once cut my face or head since I switched to the Gillette Fusion and the blades last me over a month, and they're not dull when I put a new in. I just figure anything used with hygiene should be changed at least once a month, so I really don't know how long a blade would last if I was to use them until they got a little dull, I just know that using a blade 8 times a month isn't enough for me to notice that it's getting dull. For me personally, as long as I'm getting a cut free comfortable shave that I'm getting from the Gillette Fusion, to me it would be dumb as H E L L to make a change when there is absolutely no reason to change. Hope that helps who ever reads this and they've been unhappy with whatever they use. The Gillette Fusion changeable blades/cartridges are a little expensive, but they've always been worth every dime that I pay for them, period!!!

Harrys and believe it or not, the 5 blade Equate (wally world brand) that fit the Gillete handles both have decent shaves and I can get at least 5 or 6 shaves out of them before they start tugging.

I’ve been using Harry’s for years. Get yourself a starter set including a razor for just $10. I’m on an auto ship for the blades that you can set the shipment frequency as per your needs. I also rinse my blade very good after using and dry it well, I get about a month per blade and I have a heavy beard. I’ve pasted a link for you below. I’ll never go back to the higher priced national brands. Good luck!

About 2 years ago, I switched to single edge safety razor, like the 1950's. Bought a Merkur handle, an assortment package of blades from Amazon, like $10 for 100 blades. I shave about every other day, and replace blade after 2 or 3 shaves, but at the price for blades I could use a new blade every shave.

Was a little scary at first, with a nick or two early on, but now it's all good.

I had been using the Gillette Fusion, but dropped Gillette. Was using Harry's for about 2 years before dropping them for about the same reasons. Then switched to the classic.

I have used the Schick Quattro Titanium for many years. The refill blades are sometimes a little hard to find. When I was shaving 5-6 days a week they would last me a couple of months. Now I only shave 3 times most weeks and the blades will easily last 3-4 months.

Safety razor and blades. Use the blades twice and dispose. I have less irritation and a smoother shave. It’s a little old fashion but I like it more. Always wanted to move to a straight razor but never had the guts or patience.

I cut too easy and switched to electric razors several years back. Same reason I gave up prize fighting and went into accounting and finance. But my razor of choice back then was the Gillette disposable, double blade witht the lubricating strip, they seemed to be very sharp.

Shaving doesn't really dull a blade. Storing them wet dulls them up quickly

I have really stretched the service life of razors by blotting them dry, then putting them on the heat register after use. Four to six months off of one of those Harry's cartridges.

the same method: wash face with hot, soapy water, lather up, shave. Rinse with cold water, put on skin moisterizer, not after shave. Hence, no burning nor spotting,

Then, about four years ago, that Trac II broke, and I sprung for a Braun electric. Still wash up with hot, soapy water, rinse with cold, dry, then shave. Afterwards, I wash again with hot, soapy water, rinse with cold, then use the moisterizer.

My son and grandsons all thought my routine was/is out-of-date, old-fashioned, even laughing at my daily habit. That's because they adopted this modern horsedung style of scraggly-looking faces, shaving occasionally. First the fashion mags came up with that idea, then athletes and movie stars copied. Now, it's a rage among the younger crowd, which to me is nothing short of abject laziness...LMAO, old-fashioned thinking, I know, plus I don't really give a hoot in helll about others' grooming habits! But the topic has made for gales of laughter when asked my opinion!
